Chapter 90: Netorare is Netorare, No More, No Less
“Feeling any calmer now?”
“…”
After I tied up Creep Mole Man's wrists with the zip ties Saeba-san handed me, I asked Kojima-san this question. She didn't respond.
Meanwhile, Creep Mole Man was losing it.
“What the hell, you bastards?! You broke in here and did this to me!”
Does he not understand the concept of giving up? Pathetic. Maybe I should break his arms and legs to make sure he can't escape. Or, better yet, finish him off for good.
“Lieutenant, no, Uemura-kun, you don’t need to break his bones or kill him. He’s already screwed,” Saeba-san said.
“Can you not read my mind like it’s normal, Saeba-san?”
“Your murderous intent was so obvious; how could I not? Anyway, don’t kill him. There’s something I want to check.”
“Something you want to check?”
If Saeba-san felt the need to emphasize this now, it must be important.
“Just a hunch, but this guy smells like he's on something.”
“What?”
It took me a moment to process her words. If Creep Mole Man was on drugs, this was a big deal. Hell, the entire series of events might be because of that.
Seeing my confusion, Saeba-san continued.
“Yeah, his insane sex drive, the aggression, and his eyes—it all fits.”
“She’s right. I’ve seen those eyes countless times.”
“If that’s the case, he’s definitely getting arrested.”
“Yeah, but if he’s on something like angel dust, this could be really dangerous.”
“Wait, that's a death flag for Makimura-san! Can we go with something less dangerous?”
I couldn’t help but butt in. But seriously, he should already be facing arrest for sexual assault and breaking and entering.
“Hmph, I already died when my beloved betrayed me.”
“I know, but it’s not cool at all.”
“Don't worry, if anything happens to Maki-chan, I'll avenge her a hundredfold.”
“You’re missing the point! Stop talking about hell like it's some lively place!”
Before we get sued, I wish they'd tone down this kind of talk.
“Anyway, let’s investigate this guy. First, a urine test.”
“Saeba, I think we should report this to the lady leopard.”
“Oh, right.”
As expected of the city's cleaner, Saeba-san switched gears quickly. After discussing something with Makimura-san, who then made a phone call, I turned my attention to Kojima-san, who was still trembling.
Could it be that Kojima-san's actions were influenced by Creep Mole Man's drugs? If that's the case, she's a victim too.
If so, I'm not sure how I should treat her.
“Alright, the call's done. Saeba, bring them both in.”
“Got it. Hey, Uemura-kun, mind if we take this guy and Kojima-chan?”
“…”
“Uemura-kun?”
“Oh! Yes, of course.”
I need to focus. Right now, I should be thinking about what to do with Mom and Ange's futon.
In the end, Kojima-san was taken away by Saeba-san and Makimura-san, along with the bound Creep Mole Man. I have no idea where they went. Being frigid, I guess it doesn't matter.
…
I just remembered I lent Kojima-san my jacket. Spring nights are still chilly.
Well, it’s fine. I lent her my jacket, so borrowing a futon from the closet shouldn't be an issue.
…
There's only a comforter…
