Chapter 101: DOKI☆DOKI Sudden Change Circus Game (No Ninjas Here)
“So, uh, KYOKO’s stage isn’t for another hour, right?”
Feeling a bit flustered, I asked a somewhat pointless question. I still lack the experience to handle situations like this smoothly.
“Yeah, but I had a rough day the other day. So I decided to skip work, and since staying at home was unbearable, I came early.”
“Oh, I see. You must really like KYOKO, Kimura-san.”
“Yeah, I do. I even applied to a modeling agency just because KYOKO is with them!”
“…”
You actually applied?
Well, considering today’s trends, it’s not that surprising for someone with kids to debut as an idol. But still, if things get out, it could be bad.
I admit, Kimura-san has great potential. She has a large chest and a baby face, an interesting combination, and a subtle hint of sexiness.
But this is probably because she was quite promiscuous during her school years. I'm not dense enough to miss that. If Kimura and I were total strangers, this story would fall apart.
“So, where's the best spot to watch from?”
There is no time to get lost in my thoughts. Kimura-san started looking around. I need to make sure she doesn’t look in Yuki-chan's direction.
…
Where did Yuki-chan and the others go? I’ve lost sight of them. I need to steer Kimura-san away from where they might meet.
“Uh, how about over to the left side?”
“Huh? Over there? You can't see much from there.”
“No, trust me, it’s the best spot, according to Feng Shui.”
“Feng Shui? What? Well, no need to rush. I’ll just use the restroom first.”
“Oh, okay.”
Though the conversation was uneasy, I managed to get Kimura-san out of the courtyard.
Now, I need to talk to Yuki-chan and Kumi-san. I hurried back to where Kumi-san was sitting, holding a cola. My mom was also sitting with Kumi-san.
“Where are Yuki-chan and Ange?”
I handed Kumi-san the cola and asked my mom.
“Oh, Yuki-chan needed to use the restroom, so she went with Ange.”
“What?!”
I was so shocked that I nearly ejaculated on the spot. I managed to hold back a groan.
There’s only one sign pointing to the nearest restroom in the courtyard, and the chances of them meeting are high!
“This is bad! They might run into each other!”
“Run into who?”
Thanks for correcting my mistake, Kumi-san. But let’s get straight to the point now. There’s no more time for dodging this.
“Kumi-san, let me ask you directly. Is Yuki-chan’s mother named ‘Airi’? And did she live in F City, F Prefecture, before?”
“Wh-What? How do you know that… could it be?”
“It looks like I was right.”
The look on Kumi-san’s face was akin to someone thinking, ‘How did I get pregnant despite using protection?’ It’s an odd comparison, but it’s the best way to describe it.
“I’m sorry I didn’t mention it earlier. I went to elementary and middle school with Kimura Airi.”
“What!?”
“I also know that Airi stopped attending school after turning delinquent in middle school. That’s when we lost touch.”
Kumi-san was stunned by this sudden revelation.
Of course, it’s understandable. She couldn’t have imagined moving to a new place and running into someone who knew her daughter’s classmate. If this were a positive encounter, it might seem like fate, but there's not a hint of that here.
“Wait, Yuuta. Are you saying Yuki-chan’s mother is ‘Ai-chan,’ the girl you were close with in elementary school?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
My mom, who was listening nearby, was equally shocked. She knew about Ai-chan's existence, but not the full story.
So, with the cat out of the bag, Kumi-san was left in a daze.
“No way. Uemura-san is…”
“I’m sorry I didn’t say anything sooner. I suspected it from the surname but hesitated to ask directly.”
“I never imagined that the ‘Yuuta-kun’ Airi was talking about when she regretted, ‘If I had known things would turn out like this, I should have seduced Yuuta-kun and made him take responsibility by letting him finish inside me!'”
“That’s creepy.”
“Airi repeatedly regretted that. Even though she had a boy she liked, she acted recklessly and ended up abandoning her feelings for him.”
“…”
Seriously? Don’t give me this romanticized crap. She went to a delinquent guy faster than I could confess, and her plan was essentially entrapment. This isn't some tragic love story; it’s a mess.
But apparently, Kimura liked me back then. It's complicated. If I had confessed before middle school, maybe things would have turned out differently.
However, in reality, the only butterflies were on the condom packages Kimura bought with her upperclassman. You know, those ones with butterfly designs.
But enough reminiscing. There's something more urgent to address.
“I just ran into Airi-san, and she headed to the restroom. So, right now, they might run into each other.”
“What? Oh no!”
Kumi-san shot up from her seat.
“I can’t let this happen!!”
She shouted and ran towards the restrooms, with my mom and me following close behind. Kumi-san’s panic was off the charts.
“I can’t let this happen! Airi… Airi changes completely when she sees Yuki.”
Hearing Kumi-san's frantic words as she ran, I realized the gravity of the situation. My mom must have sensed something serious too.
Out of breath, we arrived at the bathroom. There, we saw Ange standing protectively in front of Yuki, facing off against Kimura-san. Surprisingly, Ange was trembling like a scared fawn.
“Who are you? What do you want?”
“Move aside, b***h. You don’t want to be in tomorrow’s headlines, do you?”
Kimura-san’s sudden transformation was shocking. Her anger twisted her face into a grotesque mask, making her look like a zombie fawn. Everyone around was too stunned to intervene.
