Chapter 60: All the Soap I Cross is Bitchy
So, I decided to call Jones-san.
Jones-san still lives in K City, which is a bit far from our hometown of F City, but it’s still within the same prefecture. He mentioned that he would be moving closer soon.
“Hello, this is ‘Yoko Jones’ Delivery Health. Thank you for calling!”
“Cut the prank calls. Are you busy?”
“Kidding. Nothing urgent. What’s up, Yuuta? Why the sudden call?”
Jones-san sounded curious.
I should get straight to the point since he's probably busy.
“It’s about Azusa-san… Can I ask you something?”
“Sure, but you don’t have to call her ‘Azusa-san.’ What’s up with the sudden interest?”
I tried to be polite, but Jones seemed quite relaxed about it. He’d gone through a tough time when he found out the kid wasn't his, but he managed to channel all his anger into dealing with Azusa.
“Did you ever find out who Azusa was cheating with?”
“Nah, I can’t find the b*****d. The only evidence we had was that sex tape, and even that didn't show his face. All the information Azusa gave—name, address, university—turned out to be fake.”
As expected. It's hard to track someone down with false details.
“If we found out who her affair partner was now, could we still sue him for damages?”
“Hmm? Oh, yeah, the statute of limitations for infidelity is three years, but since we never knew who he was, we might still have a case. Besides, it’s been less than three years since the divorce. Why are you asking?”
Just as I thought! Alright, let’s handle this delicately.
“Well, I think I might know someone who looks like Azusa's affair partner. I'd like to confirm it, but is Azusa the only one who knows his face?”
“Yeah, probably. Azusa tried to find him too, but couldn't. I doubt the guy you know is him, but it's worth a shot.”
Hmm. I guess I need to show the picture to Azusa to confirm.
“By the way, is Azusa still alive? She must have had to pay a huge alimony.”
“Yeah, she's still alive. Actually, one reason I'm moving is to keep an eye on her to ensure she pays up.”
“What?”
“Yeah, she couldn’t earn enough in her small town, and she kept running into people she knew, hence she moved to the city to earn more money.”
Seriously?!
“So, do you know where she lives?”
“Not exactly. Her whole family moved away. But I do know where she works—it’s a Soapland called ‘Mother of a Young Girl’ near Nishi-Funabashi Station.”
What a name! Her kid would be heartbroken if they ever found out where she worked.
And if her daughter followed in her footsteps, her future boyfriend would be in for a rough time.
… Anyway, that's not the point right now.
“Even if I know where she works, how am I supposed to meet her? I can't just go as a customer.”
“Just tell the receptionist you're a proxy for Jones and need to talk to Kimura Azusa. The owner knows about me, so it should be fine.”
“Kimura…? Seriously?”
“Yeah, that’s her current surname. She switched back to her maiden name.”
“…”
Coincidences are scary. There are plenty of Kimuras, but now I feel like apologizing to all of them because of these two.
Knowing where Azusa is doesn't solve everything, but it's a start.
It looks like I have to meet her.
Let's go to the Soapland, a land full of dreams.
……..
Given the nature of the place, I wonder if the girls, regardless of age, are all high-quality. The idea of catching something is terrifying, though.
In the Soapland, even if the girls that come out of the gacha are older, they’re guaranteed to be SR (Soap Rare) or higher. The only thing scarier than getting an STDR (Sexually Transmitted Disease Rare), though..
……..
“I won’t do it!!”
“What’s wrong, Yuuta? Suddenly shouting out with such overflowing libido.”
Azusa is attractive. But even if I had the money, the thought of doing anything with her is horrifying, especially considering Jones-san's situation. There’s no way I’m getting involved in that mess.
Double entendre.
