Chapter 104: Good Night, Sweet Dreams
First, I checked the bed for any suspicious stains. After all, Ken’s been here. Since Kurebayashi-san’s clothes were not disheveled, I assumed nothing had gone too far and decided it was safe to let Yuki-chan use the bed.
Though it might have my scent, she didn't seem to mind.
As expected, Yuki-chan fell asleep quickly after crying herself out.
But then…
“Onii-chan, will you sleep with me?”
I couldn't say no to that. Who would’ve thought my first time sharing a bed with a girl not related to me would be with Yuki-chan?
As I tried to get out of bed without waking her, Angie spoke up, a bit flustered.
“Onii-chan, can we sleep together tonight?”
“Nope. It’s too hot.”
“Hmph!”
“Keep it down. You’ll wake Yuki-chan.”
Watching Yuki-chan fall asleep in my arms reminded Angie of her childhood, when she did the same.
“It must be nice to have such a close sibling bond. Maybe the sense of security is different when you’re blood-related.”
Kurumi-san seemed to be troubled by something.
Blood ties don’t always guarantee peace of mind. Kurumi-san likely regretted how she raised Airi-chan, who isn't biologically hers.
However, there was a more immediate problem.
“Um, that girl—is she a relative? Should I be going?”
Kurebayashi Mii, a classmate from Kimura Airi’s school and department, was here. If I said something wrong, Airi, who has a bit of a temper, might take serious offense.
I didn’t need Kurebayashi-san here anymore, so I should ask her to leave, but I didn’t want to cause misunderstandings either.
“Kurumi-san, this is Kurebayashi Mii, a classmate from the same university and department. As I mentioned earlier, she's not living with me. She just needed a place to have an important conversation. I hope you understand.”
I explained quickly to Kurumi-san.
“And Kurebayashi-san, this is Kurumi-san, the mother of a friend. This little angel is Yuki-chan, Kurumi-san’s granddaughter. They were at the spring festival, but Yuki-chan got tired, so I brought them here to rest.”
I provided a thorough explanation to Kurebayashi-san. I withheld Kurumi-san’s surname out of consideration to avoid more complications.
Yet Kurebayashi-san seemed confused.
“Oh, I see… So Yuki-chan is your friend’s daughter. But she's very attached to you.”
“A lot has happened.”
“So… is it possible that Yuki-chan’s father is… you?”
“No way!! That’s impossible!”
I had no memory of donating to a sperm bank or being assaulted in my sleep.
“But what if you were drunk or unaware? Maybe a hidden personality within you did it.”
“Stop imagining scenarios like some cheap novel! Are you taking cues from Kojima-san?! I've never touched alcohol, cigarettes, or women!”
I blurted out in frustration.
Kurebayashi-san was stunned.
“Wait… does that mean, Yuuta, you’re… inexperienced?”
“Ugh!”
I had unintentionally revealed too much. Admitting this is a blow to my manhood, but lying isn't an option.
While virginity is sometimes respected, being a virgin guy often isn't. That's unfair.
It's not so bad to be a virgin. No worries about unwanted pregnancies or STDs. Why isn't that respected?
Kurebayashi-san's reaction, though…
“Really? Then… can I be your first? I’m so happy…”
“Who said you could?! Even if Onii-chan agrees, I won't allow it!”
Good one, Angie.
I have the right to choose, too. Why does Kurebayashi-san think it's a given, especially since she didn't give me her first?
Also, Kurumi-san’s pitying look is painful. Please, Yuki-chan, stay asleep.
