I couldn’t shake off the nagging feeling that had been bothering me throughout all of this.

“Hey, can I ask you something?”

I inquired, seeking clarification.

“Of course, please go ahead,” she replied gently, her tone encouraging.

“Well, if Ando just wanted to fuc-get laid, why did he make a move on Kurebayashi-san after she and I started dating? I mean, if it was just about that, he could’ve done it before we got together, right? Kurebayashi-san already liked Ando from the start.” Unless, of course, he got off by stealing someone’s girlfriend.

Her response was thoughtful. “Hmm, true. From what I heard from Mii, Ando-kun couldn’t completely let go of the senior girl. If he acted without thinking, Mii might have told her, and it could’ve gotten messy, you know?”

“Ah, I see…” I acknowledged, beginning to understand the complexity of the situation.

“He probably thought that if it came to that, the senior girl wouldn’t be interested in him,” she added.

I remained silent, processing the information.

“So, in the end, it worked out well for Ando-kun that Mii got a boyfriend,” she said softly. “Even if she had you, Mii still has feelings for Ando-kun. Plus, if Mii has a boyfriend, like Yuuta-sama, she probably wouldn’t spill the beans about any secret fling with Ando-kun to anyone, including Yuuta-sama.”

“That’s, like, totally messed up…”

I can feel my frustration growing.

“Yeah, probably just like Yuuta-sama’s thinking,” she concurred, her words heavy with shared frustration. “Ando-kun took advantage of the situation where Mii couldn’t tell anyone about what they did and used his suggestive behavior to manipulate her into cheating, satisfying as many erotic things as he could with his sexual desire.”

“Uh, yeah, that’s…” I trailed off, struggling to find the right words.

It’s been a while since my anger surged!

I feel like I could set a lifetime record on the punching machine right now.

“Damn it, that b*****d!! I knew he was the root of all evil, but I never thought he’d stoop so low!! Damn, goddamn it all!! FUCKKK!!!”

“Well, the worst is that Mii committed an unforgivable sin by deceiving herself and deeply hurting Yuuta-sama, who’s completely innocent.”

“Uh, yeah, we kind of already know that. So yeah…”

After yelling, I somehow ended up feeling calm. What’s up with this rollercoaster of emotions?

Sure, I’d love to just grab that a*****e Ando, lock him up for a bit, strip him naked, then hack and slash his dick, but when it comes to this mother getting dragged into this mess, I can’t help but feel total sympathy for her.

Well, when Kurabayashi broke up with me. it seemed like she was already a pro at fooling around in the school building, like she’d mastered the art of sneaking around for some naughty fun. It’s kind of surprising how easy it is to get a girl interested in you when she’s already into you, huh?

But anyway, there’s something else I need to dig into, way deeper than just scratching the surface.

“So, uh… judging by Kurabayashi’s current situation, I take it she’s already split up with Ando, right?”

“…”

Ah, the silent treatment. Nah, scratch that. It’s a yes. Yeah, if this were a sitcom, she’d probably throw in a joke right about now, but this ain’t a sitcom.

Her silence spoke volumes, confirming my assumption.

“And when did she break up with Ando?”

“Uh… probably pretty early on, I guess.”

“Huh?” I frowned, trying to make sense of the timeline.

“So, like, around the time Yuuta-sama and Mii started going out, it seems that that senior girl seemed to start seriously moping about ‘losing love’.”

“Um, can you maybe stop calling me ‘Yuuta-sama’ already?”

“Yes… Yuuta-sama.”

“…Sure, call me whatever you want.”

My attempt to lighten the heavy mood with a little joke was a total flop.

It looks like I’m far from mastering the art of helium gas. By the way, don’t even think about hydrogen. Even though it’s light, it’ll explode if it catches fire.

“Anyway, Ando-kun starts to waver there, naturally. The person he idolized, who had previously refused him because she had a crush on someone else, was now potentially available because she was heartbroken.”

“…”

“And then, taking advantage of Mii keeping her relationship with Ando a secret, Ando starts making moves on that girl too. But eventually, everything about Ando and Mii’s steamy affair comes out when Yuuta-sama and Mii break up.”

“Right?”

Evil deeds spread far and wide. Ando’s sperm runs wild. Synonymous, huh?

Well, at least Ando’s evil deeds are all laid bare…

“…And yet. Despite all that, why did that girl start getting close to Ando, knowing about his relationship with Mii?”

“Huh?”

What’s up with that?

So basically, that senior girl also couldn’t stand the thought of Ando being taken by Kurebayashi-san?

Did she hate Kurebayashi-san or something?

“And then Ando-kun just casually dumped Mii and switched to that senior girl.”

“Seriously? What a smooth transition. Whether he switched or got switched, it doesn’t really matter.”

“Yeah, that’s right.”

“You don’t have to keep entertaining my silly comments.”

It’s like the glass analogy, right?

Glasses are pretty strong, huh? It’s like they’re pros at switching. When you think about it, there’s something deep about it. They are strong yet fragile.

Being the one who hops on, gets hopped on, and gets switched. Getting stolen, stealing, and being stolen.

Ah, how ironic. Who would’ve thought we’d be peering into the depths of Les Misérables in middle school? Can’t really judge, though, given my own situation.

“So, is Ando currently with that senior girl?”

“No, it seems they broke up right away. I heard she didn’t even let him get intimate with her.”

“Well, that’s very confusing.”

Why did that senior even bother getting close, then? It just seems like plain harassment.

 “Could it be that she and Kurebayashi-san didn’t get along?” I said

“No, not at all. If anything, she treated Mii even better than a real sister.”

The more I ask, the more confused I get. This is a first.

“So why go out of her way to betray Kurebayashi-san?”

“I wonder why, indeed. But in the end, Mii and Ando lost everything. Mii, who received a cruel betrayal from Ando, finally realized the extent of the pain she caused Yuuta-sama.”

“…”

“So, in order to confront Mii, who was suffering mentally, our family decided to move after middle school graduation. Time has passed, and Mii seems to have recovered now, but she still carries the guilt towards Yuuta-sama, and it remains as a scar even now,” she explained softly.

“Hmm…” I murmured thoughtfully, my mind grappling with the complexity of emotions and choices that had shaped their lives.

Man, this whole situation is way too complicated. It’s like a maze of nonsense. Yeah, I guess if you had to sum it up in four words, it’d be ‘what goes around comes around,’ but still…
