Chapter 110: NTR-chan is Everywhere!
“Alright, the final question. How many people have you dated?”
Oops, I got distracted by Kurebayashi-san and missed what KYOKO was saying. I can't forget we're still in the middle of the event.
“Zero.”
“No way!”
“Zero.” (emphatically)
“Wow! Did you all hear that? Our scandal-free KYOKO hasn't disappointed us with this perfect answer.”
A deafening cheer erupted, the loudest of the day, momentarily startling me.
“KYOKO's charisma is off the charts.”
Why is everyone so obsessed with virginity? My muttered sarcasm didn't escape Kurebayashi-san.
“Um, Yuuta-kun, do you also prefer someone's first time?”
Her face, which had been red, now looked a bit blue. Like a traffic light. If Kurebayashi-san plans to be with various men in the future, worrying about that seems off, but comparing oneself to a previous partner is something any insecure guy would want to avoid.
“Well, yeah, there's something special about being the first.”
“I'll go get surgery to restore it right away!”
“Wait, what? Restore what? Calm down.”
What's the point of restoring something that's just going to break again? Can you even do that with surgery? As I held back Kurebayashi-san's ridiculous notion, I noticed Ange had been unusually quiet and looked over to her.
“…”
She seemed entranced by KYOKO.
“Ange?”
“Y-Yes?”
“You're that captivated by KYOKO?”
“Oh…”
She'd been lost in her own world. Ange has this tendency, maybe because she doesn't have many friends, which worries her brother.
“Well, it's normal to idolize someone like that. Guess you're just an ordinary girl, Ange.”
“…Idolize, yeah… Hey, if Ange became a star like that, would you be happy?”
Is that something she needs to confirm with me?
“Well, only if that's what you want, Ange. If you did become a star, I'd probably brag about you all the time.”
“!!”
“I'd be like, ‘See that cute idol? She's my sister! Aren't you jealous?'”
“Ange is going to start lessons right now!”
“Wait, you haven't even debuted yet; slow down!”
I grabbed her skirt to stop her from running off. What's with these people? I almost sighed when
“Huh?”
I got a message on my phone. It's from Mom.
“I'm near the north gate. Can you come over?”
Unexpected call. She's probably still with Airi-chan. The north gate is far from the main event area and the station, making it quiet even on a busy day like today.
Did she manage to calm Airi-chan down? Curious about her, I told Kurebayashi-san and Ange that I'd be stepping out and headed to the north gate.
With so much security around, the chances of an incident happening are low.
—
I reached the north gate but couldn't find Mom or Airi-chan. After looking around for three minutes, I spotted them sitting on a crumbled block wall near the bike parking, using it as a bench.
“You could have been more specific about where you were.”
Neither of them reacted to my grumbling. Airi-chan, hearing my voice, glanced up briefly before looking down again, avoiding my gaze.
She was a far cry from the fierce persona earlier, now looking like a timid kitten.
I started to think.
The Airi-chan I knew from elementary school was bright, friendly, and always smiling.
But maybe I just didn't see the other side of her back then. The elementary school Airi-chan, the fierce one, and the current timid Airi-chan—all are part of who she is.
Even though I heard a bit from Kumi-san, there's still so much I don't know. I need to hear from Airi-chan herself to understand her better.
“Listen, you don't have to say anything you don't want to. But could you tell me what's been going on?”
I stood in front of her, offering a chance to talk. Mom didn't stop me, so I must be doing the right thing.
Alright, let's brace ourselves for whatever heavy stuff might come.
