Oneshot: My Perfect Revenge Story After My Girlfriend Cheated on Me After Loving Her for Two Years
Translator: Soafp
Not really an oneshot. It is a short story but I compiled it in one.
On a cold December evening, when the winter wind stung his cheeks, Soma Shizukuishi stepped out of the university library and, as usual, took out his phone. A message from Rurika Kiriya was displayed on the screen.
“Having dinner with friends today, take care♪”
Soma typed a reply with a faint smile.
“Take care. Have fun. Get home safe.”
Rurika, who had been his girlfriend for two years, was the first woman Soma had ever truly loved. He met her at the university's programming research club, where she struggled with IT and Soma kindly helped her—that was how it began.
Rurika's beauty was well known across campus. Her chestnut-colored hair fell to her shoulders, her eyes were large, and her features well-shaped. With her sociable and bright personality, she was always surrounded by people. Soma still couldn't believe that someone like her had chosen him.
For the past six months, they had been living a semi-cohabiting life. Three or four nights a week, Rurika stayed over at Soma's apartment. They cooked meals together, watched movies, and enjoyed quiet moments.
“When I'm with you, Soma-kun, I feel so calm.”
She often said that, and nothing made Soma happier.
Next spring, Soma would graduate and had already secured a job at a local IT company. Rurika had one more year left, but naturally, they began talking about the future.
“When you graduate, shall we live together?”
When Soma proposed that last month, Rurika nodded with a happy smile.
“Yeah, that sounds nice. But I'd like a proper place.”
“Of course. We'll find a wonderful place that suits you.”
Yet lately, Rurika seemed different. She didn't stay over as often, her schedule with “friends” increased, and she spent more time staring at her phone. Sometimes, when a message came in, she would react nervously.
“Are you busy these days?”
When Soma asked, she gave him a vague smile.
“Yeah, thesis prep, job-hunting prep, you know… a lot going on.”
That could be true, Soma thought, and didn't press further. He trusted her and didn't want to seem controlling.
But the unease grew day by day.
One afternoon, after classes ended earlier than usual, Soma decided to surprise her. Waiting in front of her department's building, he saw Rurika walking with a man he didn't know.
The man looked older, dressed in a business suit, clearly a working adult. They talked closely, Rurika's face lit up in a way different from when she was with Soma.
Heart pounding, Soma hid behind a pillar.
“Well, I'll contact you again.”
“Okay, I'll look forward to it.”
After the man left, Soma approached.
“Rurika, good job today.”
“Oh, Soma-kun! What are you doing here?”
She looked startled for a moment, then quickly put on her usual smile.
“My class ended early, so I came to pick you up. Who was that?”
“Oh, um… someone from a company. He's helping me with an internship.”
“I see.”
Soma didn't press. Still, the thorn in his chest remained.
Over the following weeks, Soma quietly observed her. Her lies were clever, but after knowing her so long, he began to notice them. On days she claimed to meet friends, social media showed those friends elsewhere. On nights she said she was sick, an acquaintance spotted her happily walking downtown with someone.
Then came the decisive moment.
One freezing December night, Soma saw her with that same man in the hotel district. Holding hands, close and intimate, they disappeared into a business hotel together.
Stunned, Soma stood frozen. His mind went blank, unable to accept it. But the truth was undeniable. Betrayal. The collapse of everything he trusted.
That night, he couldn't sleep at all. The next day, a message came from Rurika, as if nothing had happened.
“Sorry about yesterday, I wasn't feeling well and went to bed early. I'm fine today, want to meet tonight?”
With trembling hands, Soma replied:
“Can you come to my apartment tonight? I need to talk to you.”
At 8 p.m., Rurika arrived, smiling as always.
“Good evening! Want me to cook something nice today?”
Sitting on the sofa, Soma looked at her.
“Sit down.”
“What's wrong? Why so serious?”
She sat across from him, confused.
“Yesterday, at the time you said you were sick and sleeping, I saw you in the hotel district.”
Her face instantly froze.
“Huh? No way, must've been someone else.”
“I saw you with a man in a suit, holding hands, going into a business hotel.”
“That's not true! Soma-kun, what are you saying?”
Her voice wavered, betraying her panic.
“That man, he's related to your job-hunting, right? Kyosuke Kagurazaka?”
At the sound of the name, Rurika's expression broke. Soma had stayed up all night digging. Kagurazaka Kyosuke, 28, a sales manager at an IT company—married.
“Why did you investigate?”
“Why? Because you betrayed me.”
Silence filled the room. Rurika kept her head down.
“How long has it been?”
“Three months.”
Her reply was small but clear.
“Why? What was wrong with me?”
Soma's voice nearly cracked.
Tears in her eyes, Rurika looked up.
“It's not that you did anything wrong. But with Kyosuke-san, I feel like an adult woman. He takes me to fancy restaurants, buys me nice clothes, shows me a world different from yours.”
“So it's because I don't have money?”
“No! It's not that… I just wanted more excitement. Life with you was happy, but too ordinary.”
Soma stood, something inside him shattering.
“He's married, isn't he? With a wife and child.”
Her face paled.
“You know?”
“I found out. His wife is a homemaker, they have a five-year-old daughter.”
“That's…”
“You were willing to break a family apart just for excitement?”
Rurika said nothing.
Soma turned to the window. Snow had begun to fall.
“It's over.”
“Soma-kun…”
“Get out.”
“Wait, listen to me. Kyosuke-san is just for fun. The one I truly love is you.”
Soma didn't turn around.
“Do you betray someone you love for fun? Do you trample on their heart for fun?”
“It's not like that!”
“Enough. Leave.”
Crying, Rurika gathered her things and left. The sound of the door closing marked the end.
Alone in the room, Soma collapsed to his knees. Two years of trust, the future they dreamed of—was it all an illusion?
Outside, snow fell harder, freezing him to the core.
Yet beneath the grief and despair, another feeling stirred—anger. Dark, seething anger at Rurika for betraying him, and at Kyosuke Kagurazaka for destroying without remorse.
Soma sat before his computer and began typing. He would use every bit of his IT knowledge to dig deeper into them.
The word “revenge” echoed quietly in his mind.
A week had passed since his breakup with Rurika. Soma continued attending university lectures and outwardly lived his usual daily life. But inside, he was calmly devising his plan for revenge.
Soma's computer skills were highly regarded even within the university. His knowledge spanned from network security and database management to hacking techniques, all acquired through self-study.
All the information Soma had gathered on Kyosuke Kagurazaka was neatly organized and stored on his hard drive—his position at the IT firm Tech Solutions Co., Ltd., details about his wife Misaki and their daughter Mai, and evidence of his affair with Rurika.
What Soma considered most important were the compliance violations at Kagurazaka's company. Despite being married, he continued having inappropriate relationships with female subordinates and women from partner firms. Soma collected evidence from social media posts and eyewitness accounts.
“A man like this living freely is unforgivable.”
Muttering to himself, Soma entered the final stage of his revenge.
First, he sent an anonymous email to Kagurazaka's company—addressed to HR and the president—exposing his affair and sexual harassment, with specific dates and attached photographic evidence.
At the same time, he mailed Kagurazaka's wife Misaki an anonymous letter containing proof of her husband's affairs and documents showing he had multiple partners.
Furthermore, Soma decided to ruin Rurika's reputation at university. He anonymously reported to the student counseling office and career center that she was involved in an affair with a married man. It would surely affect her job prospects.
Three days after carrying out his plan, the first effects appeared.
Kagurazaka had apparently called Rurika in tears. Through one of her friends, Soma learned what was said.
“My company found out. My wife found out. I can't see you anymore.”
With those words, Kagurazaka abruptly ended the relationship.
Desperate, Rurika tried to contact Soma, sending countless messages and calls, all of which Soma ignored.
A few days later, Kagurazaka's company issued disciplinary action. Due to sexual harassment and an extramarital affair, he was demoted from sales manager to regular staff and reassigned to a regional branch. His salary was drastically cut, and any chance of future promotions was gone.
At home, Misaki decided to divorce him. She hired a lawyer to demand alimony and child support. Kagurazaka's social standing and financial foundation collapsed all at once.
Meanwhile, Rurika too was cornered. Rumors of her affair spread around campus, straining her friendships. During job hunting, an anonymous report caused her to lose a tentative job offer.
One night, Rurika waited outside Soma's apartment.
“Soma-kun, please, hear me out.”
Her eyes were swollen, her face utterly exhausted.
“What do you want?”
Soma answered coldly.
“It was you, wasn't it? You're the one who reported Kyosuke-san to his company and his wife.”
“Do you have proof?”
“I know it was you. No one else could've done it.”
Crying, she clung to him.
“Please, stop. Isn't it enough? It's over with Kyosuke-san, I lost my job offer, I've already suffered.”
Soma shook her off.
“Do you think what you've faced is even one-tenth of what you did to me?”
“But his daughter… she did nothing wrong. Now her parents will divorce, she'll suffer.”
“That's something you should have thought about before starting an affair.”
Soma's voice was icy.
“You and Kagurazaka trampled on other people's hearts for your own desires. Now you're just paying the price.”
“Soma-kun, please. It was my fault. But stop this now.”
“It's too late.”
Soma went inside, leaving Rurika outside in tears.
Kagurazaka's downfall continued. His performance at the branch was poor, and another demotion was already being discussed. In divorce mediation, he was forced to accept unfavorable terms, and his finances crumbled. Other women he had toyed with began demanding compensation as well.
Rurika also fell into despair. Her job search was in ruins, she was isolated at university, and when her family learned of her affair, they all but disowned her.
One day, a friend of hers called Soma.
“Rurika-chan was hospitalized.”
“What happened?”
“She tried to kill herself by taking a large amount of sleeping pills. Luckily, her roommate found her quickly, so she survived.”
After the call, Soma sat frozen for a long time.
The revenge had been carried out. Kagurazaka was socially destroyed, and Rurika was pushed into despair. Yet Soma felt no satisfaction.
Instead, only a deep emptiness remained. He had cornered the woman he loved, destroyed a man's life, and dragged his family into it. The revenge was successful, but Soma began to realize the magnitude of what was lost.
He himself had changed through this ordeal. The kind, innocent young man he once was no longer existed. In his place was a cold, calculating person. His friends noticed the change and gradually distanced themselves.
Spring came, and Soma graduated. He joined the IT company where he had secured a job, beginning a new life. But the emptiness inside never went away.
Kagurazaka failed to find decent work, eventually settling for a low-paying job at a small firm. Misaki returned to her family with their daughter, cutting ties completely.
Rurika dropped out of university and returned to her hometown. Soma never heard from her again.
Revenge had succeeded. But no one was happy. The pure Rurika he once loved, the innocent version of himself before betrayal—neither would ever return.
Late at night, alone, Soma often wondered—if he had chosen differently, what might have happened? Even if he couldn't forgive, was there another path besides revenge?
But time would not turn back. Knowing he had gained nothing from vengeance, Soma still returned alone to his apartment.
On snowy nights, he gazed out the window. The white snow covered everything, as if it were burying the happy days of the past.
The revenge was complete. Yet what remained was a freezing reality that had destroyed all three of their lives.
[Rurika PoV]
On a cold December morning, Rurika Kiriya sat in her university lecture hall staring at her phone. A message from Kyosuke Kagurazaka was displayed on the screen.
“Can I see you tonight too? It hurts when I can't be with you.”
Rurika's heart raced. Twenty-eight-year-old Kyosuke was a grown man far beyond her reach as a university student. Dinners at luxury restaurants, hotels with stunning night views, and above all, the way he treated her like a real woman.
She had met Kyosuke three months earlier during a university internship. As a sales manager at the IT company Tech Solutions, he was in charge of guiding students in practical training.
“Kiriya-san, you have great sense. I'm looking forward to your future.”
When Kyosuke first said that to her, Rurika felt like she was floating. Unlike the boys her age, Kyosuke had a calm maturity and financial stability. Rurika was instantly drawn to him.
But she already had a boyfriend of two years. Soma Shizukuishi, a senior by one year, serious and skilled at programming.
Soma was kind. She knew he truly loved her. They were practically living together and even talked seriously about their future.
“After graduation, should we live together?”
When Soma suggested that last month, Rurika had been genuinely happy. Yet deep down, she felt something was missing.
Life with Soma was certainly happy—but it was predictable, lacking excitement. Student romance, student dates, student plans for the future.
“I want to be a more special kind of woman.”
She found herself whispering that in front of the mirror more often. Though she was used to being called beautiful, it wasn't enough. She wanted to shine in the adult world.
That was when Kyosuke appeared.
“A beautiful woman like you shouldn't still be a student.”
Kyosuke often told her that. He took her to fine restaurants, ordered wines she could never afford, and sometimes gave her brand-name gifts.
“I thought this would suit you.”
When he handed her an Hermès scarf, Rurika nearly cried. No one had ever given her something so luxurious before.
Soma gave her gifts too, but they were always modest—handmade accessories or poetry books from secondhand shops. Thoughtful, yes, but not the kind of specialness Rurika longed for.
As her relationship with Kyosuke deepened, she wavered between guilt and forbidden pleasure.
“I know I'm doing something awful to Soma.”
Her head understood, but time with Kyosuke sparkled like magic. The thrill of being treated like a grown woman, the pride of experiencing luxury, and his refined expressions of affection.
“You're special, Rurika.”
Whenever Kyosuke whispered that, she felt chosen.
Gradually, she began to keep Soma at a distance. She no longer stayed over as often, and she reduced their time together with excuses about friends.
“Have you been busy lately?”
Soma would ask with concern, and guilt stabbed her heart. Yet she kept lying.
“I've been busy with my thesis and job hunting.”
Soma trusted her without doubt. That trust made her feel even more burdened.
Then one day, Kyosuke revealed a shocking truth.
“Actually, I'm married.”
He confessed in bed, looking apologetic.
“I have a wife and daughter. But my feelings for you are real.”
For a moment, Rurika felt the world stop. Married? But his words—“My feelings for you are real”—gave her some comfort.
“Are things not good with your wife?”
“We haven't been a real couple for years. Meeting you was the first time I knew true love.”
Rurika wanted to believe him. She wanted to believe she was special.
But reality was harsher.
One December night, her world shattered in an instant. In Soma's apartment, he confronted her.
“Yesterday you said you weren't feeling well and went to bed early. But I saw you in the hotel district.”
Rurika went pale. She had been caught.
“Kyosuke Kagurazaka.”
When Soma spoke his name, she knew she had been completely exposed. Just how much had he discovered? Fear consumed her.
“Since when?”
“For three months.”
She had no choice but to answer truthfully.
“Why? What was wrong with me?”
His trembling voice carried his deep hurt.
“It's not that anything was wrong with you. But with Kyosuke, I feel like a real woman. He takes me to fine restaurants, buys me beautiful clothes, and shows me a different world.”
Through her tears, Rurika confessed her true feelings.
“That man is married, isn't he? He has a wife and child.”
Soma's cold voice pierced her.
“You knew?”
“I investigated. His wife is a homemaker, and their daughter is five.”
Rurika was stunned. She hadn't expected Soma to know so much.
“You wanted excitement, even if it meant destroying a family?”
She had no reply. She knew it would ruin his family, but her desires had been stronger.
“It's over.”
“Soma…”
“Leave.”
She begged and apologized, but Soma was firm.
“Enough. Get out.”
Crying, she gathered her belongings and left. Two years of love ended in a single night.
But this was only the beginning of a nightmare.
A few days later, Kyosuke called, pale and frantic.
“Rurika, something terrible happened. My company found out. My wife too.”
“What? What do you mean?”
“Someone exposed us. They sent detailed proof to the company and my wife.”
Soma's face appeared in her mind.
“I can't see you anymore. The company is disciplining me, and my wife is demanding divorce. I'm sorry.”
Kyosuke hung up. Rurika stared blankly at her phone.
After that, misfortune struck her one after another. Rumors of her affair spread around campus, friends pulled away, and a company that had offered her a job suddenly revoked it.
“An anonymous report was received.”
When HR told her that, Rurika knew it had to be Soma's doing.
She went to his apartment and begged.
“Please, stop. Isn't it enough already? I've ended things with Kyosuke, and I've lost my job offers.”
But Soma's face was like ice.
“Do you think you've suffered even a tenth of what you did to me?”
“But Kyosuke's daughter isn't guilty of anything, is she? It's cruel for her to lose her family.”
As her last resort, Rurika pleaded with him about Kyosuke's child.
“That's something you should've thought about before you started the affair.”
Soma's reply was merciless.
“You and Kagurazaka trampled on others' hearts for your own desires. Now you'll pay the price.”
Rurika was in despair. Soma's revenge was more thorough and merciless than she had ever imagined.
The days that followed were hell for her. She lost her lover, her future, her friends, and even the trust of her family. Kyosuke cut off all contact, and she was left with no one to turn to.
“What a foolish thing I've done…”
Every night, Rurika cried alone. Each time she recalled the happy days with Soma, her chest tightened painfully. Why had she given in to Kyosuke's temptation back then? Why hadn't she cherished Soma's love?
She had wanted excitement. She had wanted to be a special woman. She had longed for the adult world.
But all of it had been an illusion. To Kyosuke, Rurika was nothing more than one of many mistresses. The only one who had truly loved her was the very man she had betrayed—Soma.
“I'm sorry, Soma. I'm so, so sorry.”
But it was too late. What she had lost could never be recovered.
One night, Rurika found herself staring at the bottle of sleeping pills in her hand. She just wanted to be freed from the suffering. She was tired of everything.
“Mom, I'm sorry. Soma, I'm sorry…”
She swallowed a large number of pills. As her consciousness began to fade, her memories with Soma flashed before her eyes—
Cooking breakfast together. Leaning on his shoulder while watching a movie. The night he had promised, “Let's live together after graduation.”
All of it, memories she could never return to.
Fortunately, her roommate came home earlier than expected and found her. She was rushed to the hospital, and her life was saved. But the wound in Rurika's heart was far too deep.
Lying alone in the hospital bed, she stared at the ceiling.
“What was I really looking for?”
Soma's love had been real. It was pure, sincere, and full of hope for the future. But she hadn't been satisfied with that alone.
The thrilling time with Kyosuke—the fine restaurants, the branded gifts, the sense of superiority at being treated as a mature woman. But all of that had been borrowed. It wasn't true love, only a fleeting excitement.
“I threw away what really mattered…”
Tears streamed silently down her cheeks.
After being discharged, Rurika decided to drop out of university and return to her hometown. Her parents scolded her harshly, but they did not abandon their daughter.
“You made a terrible mistake. But life is still long. Reflect properly, and start over.”
Her father's words weighed heavily in her heart.
As she began a new life in her hometown, Rurika thought of Soma every day. What was he doing now? Had he started working? Had he found a new girlfriend?
“I pray for Soma's happiness.”
That was the only prayer she could make.
She had committed an unforgivable sin. She had destroyed Kyosuke's family, hurt Soma's heart, and made many people unhappy. That burden was one she would carry for the rest of her life.
“I was a fool…”
Looking at her reflection in the mirror, Rurika whispered. The face once praised as beautiful was now clouded with regret and despair.
Even when spring came and a new season began, no light shone into her heart. What she had lost was far too great. And all of it had been the result of her own choices.
She started doing small part-time jobs, leading a quiet and modest life. The glamorous and thrilling life she once longed for was gone, replaced by days of silence and restraint.
“Maybe this is my atonement…”
Every day, Rurika pressed her hands together in apology toward Soma and Kyosuke's family. Especially when she thought of Kyosuke's little daughter, her chest ached.
“She did nothing wrong, yet because of me, her parents divorced.”
Her choices had ruined the lives of many. Facing that reality and continuing to live with it was the only path left for her.
Sometimes, old friends from university tried to contact her, but Rurika rejected every call. She wanted to cut ties with her past self and live in penance.
“Soma, I truly loved you. That part wasn't a lie. But I betrayed your love.”
Looking up at the night sky, Rurika whispered her apologies again and again in her heart.
She had committed an unforgivable sin. What she lost would never return. But at the very least, she resolved to live out the rest of her life in an honest way.
That was the final form of atonement left for Rurika.

Yeah its a revenge story, but he revealed the truth because he knows that they will do it again, i mean yeah there ate multiple routes, he could go the cuvk way if you guys want and move on. But he remembers that guy has a fvcking kid, so even if he dumps his ex he will eventually find a new bitch to fvck on. Even if he didn't reports this, his wife might expose this eventually
I don't know why they say Soma carried out revenge. He only reported the truth, only reported the facts to the people who deserved to know the truth. The wife deserved to know the truth about Kyosuke's betrayal since he committed infidelity. The company has policies against it, and Rurika only faced the consequences of her actions.
There's no revenge here, only fait accompli by the cheaters.
"Soma’s revenge was more thorough and merciless" - As any revenge should be.
I mean, this is too much, only deranged people will go this far and also drive someone to the point of s*icide, as the oneshot itself states you wont feel any sort of satisfaction either unless you are some sort of Ted Bundy which you really shouldnt proud to be
Getting them fired and losing their social standings is more than enough, then just move on and work on your own life lol
meh he was too soft on her for this bs he deserved much more then she got tbf she and that a*** both got easy card. so/so idea not bed execution of it bruh
