I knew what he was saying, but I didn't understand it. Having his son married to another house would mean, of course, that the Camells and the Andreas would be connected. The Aristocratic Registry was a family index established by the country that certified one's origin and granted one's status as a noble. If one's name were to be removed from it, he or she would lose their birthplace and at the same time become a commoner.

In sum, it was a form of banishment, meaning that the person would never become a noble for the rest of their life and will not be able to return home. Such a castigation was feared by those born and raised as nobles as something worse than death, but stories of it happening were very few, to say the least.

…I had no idea she would receive such a heavy punishment.
