Chapter 18: Blessing of His Majesty, the King.

Enjoy!
“…What? Huh? T, the king…?”
She had just referred to herself as a more noble being than any other, but it seemed like the mere mention of His Majesty, whose authority reigned supreme, was enough to whiten her expression. Affrighted, her eyes swam around like fish to the slaughter.
“You see, I'm sure you've been briefed on the situation by your peerage many times, haven't you? The Count of Camell neither lied nor joked about it. You've been officially expunged from nobility.”
“L, lies! How could my grandfather allow such a thing?!”
“The erasure process can only be done with the permission of the current head of the family. Naturally, there is an application for the royal court to review and have the last say,” I explained. “All you need to start it is the permission of the house's current head. Likewise, you don't need any permission from the former heads of the family—your grandparents.”
I continued, “As a result, no person with the name ‘Lulu Camell' was born to the Camell household, and as such, they only have one daughter: Lyla. This fact was confirmed by His Majesty himself at a recent party attended by nobles all around the country.”
While there, as I watched, the count and countess of the Camell household went to greet His Majesty, the King, who congratulated them on their only daughter's upcoming wedding, which would take place very soon. Such exchange was surely arranged by the Marquis of Andrea, but as a stout cherry on top, His Majesty himself mentioned the fact they had an only daughter in public. So, in that exact moment, Lulu Camell's existence was dully erased.
Despite the factions and their power struggles, His Majesty's authority was still unparalleled in our monarchist country. The weight of his words was, needless to say, absolute.
“Well, then, who is this woman in front of me right now, hm? Come to think of it, people that aren't of noble ascent are generally called commoners, did you know that?”
“—?! C, commoner?! Y, you're not… referring to me, are you…?”
“I am. Now that you are not a noble, you're just Lulu. A commoner.”
As I clearly affirmed her question, words laced with every bit of seriousness I could muster, she scrambled to a halt. Her mouth unlatched as her eyes scampered about. With this, I hope she finally understands her current position. Still, lacking her mental capacities scared me.
Eventually, she blinked and brought a hand to her neck, slow to a crawl.
“…H, hey, you there, go make me some tea. I'm thirsty.”
An abrupt directive. The squire in her line of sight did not move a single inch. Since there was only one female attendant in the room, Lulu may have thought she'd be easier to order than the others. Unfortunately for her, I was the master of that squire. No matter how much she scolded her to hurry, she would not move without my order.
“Don't order my squire without my permission. As just ‘Lulu,' you have no right to boss her around. And I have no tea to serve you, even more so after your lack of manners.”
“I… I don't understand?”
“You never change. As I stated before, you are a commoner and I am a noble. I would like to remind you of your own attitude—or lack thereof—today, which was, by all accounts, abysmal. You've been nothing short of rude, disrespectful, and an eyesore. It was not something I would expect one to direct to their superior,” I sighed before continuing. “Do you think I'd apologize to a commoner I don't know without so much as a greeting on their part, and even though I have no recollection of ever wronging you?”
“What are you talking about? We are not on bad terms!”
She did not answer my question, and instead tilted her head in a cutesy way and smiled. I wonder what she was trying to accomplish by acting so friendly to me all of a sudden. My guess is that she thought she'd be forgiven if she looked cute. However, from my point of view, she just seemed to know how to seduce and attract the opposite sex. Thus, there was no way I would ever fall for her cheap theatrics.
“There is no connection between you and me whatsoever.”
“We were engaged, so—”
“There is no longer a ‘Lulu Camell,' thus there was never a person I was engaged to. Well, hypothetically, even before you were erased from nobility, the betrothal was broken long before that, so only an ex-fiancé would remain. Of course, I was never engaged to you, a mere disrespectful commoner, so we have no connection to each other. This meeting with you also happened because of the Count of Camell's request, so I don't know anything about you.”
“—!”
No matter how many times she would try to change the subject, attempt to charm me, or even try to keep her position vague, she could not change the fact our engagement was broken off. Neither could she negate her expulsion from nobility, or His Majesty's words. The reality of what happened would befall her regardless.
Thus, she finally started to accept the situation and tried to say something through dumb sounds and an agape mouth. However many times she tried, though, she couldn't even put it into words.

I find it hard to really care about this situation one bit. Yeah she's a terrible person and deserves her fate. The MC is an absolute moron for dealing with her for this long though. I don't have sympathy for self inflicted harm. If this guy was dumb enough to put up with a loser like this, he deserves to be hurt.
get f*ked
Thank you. It seems she is finally seeing the reality of her situation.
Thanks for the chapter. Only during the revenge scenes do the chaoters feel long and satisfying .
