Chapter 20: Visitation’s end.

Enjoy!
Lulu was befuddled. “Ruben…? What are you talking about?”
“You're an attention-blitzed fool who takes love for granted. I said what I meant: I don't love you,” she stood aghast in response, as if my words weren't real in the slightest. Impassive, I continued, “That's all. Now, please leave.”
“Wait, what do you mean…?”
“Understand I don't love you anymore, and we're done here,” I said. No matter how stupid she was, she should get at least this much and return back to whence she came. Well, though, she may end up forgetting it since a trip to the north is a voyage and a half.
“Eh… Oh, are you trying to get my attention?” She giggled, cheeks heated pink; horrifying. She appalled me so much I couldn't be more grateful to the desk that separated us both.
“Frankly, your very existence sickens me to the bone. It's disgusting, so just, please leave.”
“D, disgusting?!”
“Yes. By that, I'm referring to your toplofty attitude, despite knowing your position. You've also disrespected His Majesty, the king. To add insult to injury, you even disrespected me and the Camell house. Those things alone are enough to warrant heavy disgorge, but your bizarro mind is seriously foul!” I sighed. “Ah… I see. Is that why the aristocratic pawns—those men often switched when buttering you up?”
While noting such a discovery, I convinced myself of what I came up with. Unlike the ignored fiancé I was, the closer the pawns got to her, the more they understood what was inherently wrong with that girl. No matter how vital the order, so long as they didn't really love her, they wouldn't be able to endure her sickening mind. Plus, the more decent or well-raised a noble was, the harder it would be for them to accept such a delusional woman.
I had thought the ever-changing presence of those men to be born out of Lulu's boredom, but it seemed the circumstances behested some measures to help their mental perseverance.
She gouged up a response. “O, oh yeah! As you said, I am loved by many people! So now, even though you have the chance to marry me, you don't care if someone else takes me?”
“Eh, I don't want you. In fact, I've been saying I don't even need you.”
Apparently, my last words of dispraise rang good in her mind. Hell, does she really think there's some weirdo out there who really wants her after my love faded away? It seems she hadn't yet given up on her terrible delusion of marrying me. For one, she couldn't since I was a noble unlike her.
I wanted to let out the biggest of all sighs, but I swallowed it. Instead, I managed a fleeting yet meaningful glance at the male attendants standing behind me.
“I am certain this has been relayed to you as well, but… There is a rule that you, an expunged noble, cannot marry another noble person for the rest of your life. Such a rule is put in place so that those who were expelled and erased may never return to their former status. Therefore, if any noble wishes to take you as his wife, he must give up his own status as a noble. The same is true if he even wants you as his mistress.”
I continued, “For those of us living under a noble-lead society, surrounding ourselves with those who have been expelled, for whatever reason, is like conniving with a heavy sinner. Thus it's something no one welcomes or tolerates. Still, it would've been nice if some guy loved you enough to be prepared for the consequences. But none actually offered you their undying affection, did they? Do you really think you were loved?”
“Ha?! I am loved!”
“Oh really? So you'd be willing to marry a man who's no longer a noble? A commoner?”
“Why would I even marry a commoner?!”
“Thought so,” I sighed for the umpteenth time. “In that lieu, they must have the same thought process as you. There's no way one of these men would ever marry an expunged noble-cum-commoner like you.”
Her eyes shot open.
“Well, I know not the innards of their hearts, but I'm sore none loves you. Neither do I anymore.”
“B, but I am loved! Everyone loves me!”
“That's it,” I was fed up. “Leave. I no longer have a shred of interest in partaking in your vain delusions,” I said and waved my head, signaling for her to leave.
If she wouldn't leave on her own accord following my words, there wouldn't be a single problem with using force. The two male squires, understanding the fleeting glance I’d given a few moments prior, quietly moved to either side of her before each grabbing one of her arms.
Meanwhile, the female squire was fast to stand by the door, opening it at just the right moment. From here, Lulu would be taken to the carriage waiting for her just outside the villa.
“What are you doing?! Ruben?!”
“Farewell. Do not say my name ever again.”
