Chapter 21: Unexpected appearance.

Enjoy!
She was caught and tried to shake them off and run. However, the two men were far stronger than she was, and they promptly took her to the carriage. Naturally, I didn't see her off, though I did hear her shrills. “Let go of me! I am loved! I am loved!” I could hear her parroting from outside the closed door.
“Finally… It's over.”
I thought I was well prepared for whatever may come when I met her, but I did not expect the conversation to steer that way. Did I not realize how deranged she was over the course of our years together? No. I just felt something amiss, refused to look, and it ended up being worse than I could ever imagine.
Huffing some of my worries as a sigh, I asked the remaining female squire for some tea. As soon as I said so, there was a knock at the door. Certain it would be Rein, I gave the permission to open it. Through the door came Rein, though he was not alone. A man older and taller than he was strutted inside, and I recognized him to be the Marquis of Andrea—Rein's father. Surprised, though not confused as this was his villa, I stood up and bowed.
“Hey, I haven't seen you since the party that other night.”
“Yes, Marquis Andrea. It is an honor to see you again.”
“It's nice to hear you say that. Ah, yes, you must be quite tired, so I'll have them clean up right away.”
Under order of the marquis, the servants and attendants of the villa appeared, and all the furniture used in my meeting with Lulu was dragged off in a hurry. The chairs, the table, the cups—everything was taken out and swiftly replaced by new ones. I couldn't help but wonder why they doing that.
“Dad. What are you going to do with the stuff that thing used?”
“Getting rid of it. It's all been soiled,” the marquis was direct.
“Yeah, I don't think cleaning will do the job either. I second that.”
“Let's open all the windows here and in the hallway. That way we'll be sure even the air gets dully replaced with time.”
“Oh, while you're at it, replace the carpet in the hallway,” Rein added.
“We're planning to do some renovations when you officially take over this villa. We can do that then.”
“I see. So be it.”
The mystery of the sudden replacements was quickly resolved as Rein and his father lightly mentioned and talked about it. By the looks of it, even the marquis heard what Lulu was saying from the room next door.
“But wow, I had no idea such sh*t-stained trash even existed. It surprised me regardless of my age.”
“Oh, come on, Dad.”
Even I didn't expect the marquis to drop an S-word. I had heard he was angry with Lulu far before this visitation, but still, Rein seemed as taken aback as I was and warned his father—
“Even trash can be reused, Dad. It's an insult to the litter if we pit that thing with it.”
He didn't. Rather, his hostility only increased.
“Indeed. Hmm, then she's a venomous, injurious, idiotic sack of sh*t.”
“That would be disrespectful to the venomous insects that live in nature.”
“Then she's just worthless scum.”
“…Meh, that's fine.”
The father-son duo kept talking smack about her with straight faces. From my point of view, they were pretty close, though their interactions were made with stoic expressions. No matter how much time has passed since I met the two, I've always thought they were quite the oddballs.
During these familial conversations, I was occasionally asked for my opinion, which I always gave in a safe manner. As soon as the room was beautifully and swiftly reconstructed, I was urged to sit in the new chairs that had been set up. The arrangement was that the marquis sat in front of me, while Rein sat by my side.
As I made myself comfortable, I was taken aback by how much better the furniture was. Perhaps the room had been stripped of its best pieces with the intention of throwing whatever was inside away.
“Now that I feel a bit better, let me tell you my verdict.”
A quick breather and a sip of tea later—one brewed from the most fragrant of leaves—the marquis broke the ice.

Wow. That was an epic level of vitriol. Saying calling her a venomous pack of fecal matter would be an insult to the bugs living in fecal matter is just... wow.
