Synopsis

Yamato Makino entered a prestigious high school as the top student, with a childhood friend and best friend sitting next to him who he had a crush on… Every day was fun and filled with confidence.

However, these fulfilling days didn’t last long.

His father’s company went bankrupt due to massive debt.

The family’s finances suddenly became strained, and if things continued this way, his goal of going to college would be dashed.

Yamato quickly started working part-time, but he neglected his studies, and his grade-level ranking in written exams dropped day by day.

In contrast, his childhood friend Aoi Miyano and his best friend Toru Murase excelled in their studies and in the student council, and before he knew it, the gap between them and Yamato was clear.

He was busy working part-time and studying, and he felt jealous and inferior to his childhood friend. His father was drinking heavily and playing around every day, and his mother wouldn’t say anything to his father. 

Then, one day, exhausted and stressed, Yamato heard rumors that his childhood friend Aoi and his best friend Toru had become romantically involved.
