Chapter 4: Isn’t an idol NTR a bit too common?
Translator: Soafp
“…So there really is someone in this school!”
At lunch, I checked my phone and muttered to myself.
“W-what's wrong?”
“What do you mean, someone's here?”
“Ah… ah, sorry.”
The classmates nearby, including Touya who was chatting, all turned their attention to me at once. Well, part of it was probably because my voice had been too loud, but still, having all those eyes suddenly on me was genuinely scary.
“Sorry about that…”
I bowed my head, and immediately most of the curiosity faded away. But there were exceptions — Aizawa, who I'd interacted with this morning, and Nakazato, who had apparently been talking with her, were chuckling quietly.
It wasn't mockery or teasing; they just found my reaction amusing.
“………”
Now, why had I shouted out like that? It was because I'd opened the NetoraSensor app.
I realized that the app could show the time when a reaction occurred, and apparently, it had reacted earlier — around the time I arrived at school that morning.
(There it is… that foolish b*****d trying to tear apart those I care about… maybe even some sl*t involved, but there's no doubt, they're here!)
I hadn't had time to check my phone in the morning because I was dealing with Aizawa. The sensor had already reacted hours ago, and if I was too late now… that thought alone frustrated me.
(Then again, I can't be staring at my phone all the time…)
That's exactly it — I can't save everything all the time.
But still, the fact that this is happening in school means there's someone trying something as stupid as NTR during the very peak of high school romance… I can't allow that.
“Masato's been glued to his phone all the time.”
“Probably looking at some porn site, huh?”
“It's fine if he looks, but the classroom's pretty next-level.”
“Don't be ridiculous.”
I denied it firmly, though I do occasionally browse sites for doujinshi, so I can't completely say it never happens.
“I'm not saying I never look, but not in the classroom. Don't spread weird rumors.”
“Got it! We're gentlemen, after all!”
“Yeah.”
Well, I can't really deny being a perverted gentleman!
While listening to Touya and the others, I kept checking the app, and I found something slightly disturbing:
“This NetoraSensor is an app to eradicate cheating bastards, but it has a drawback for the user — each time the user saves someone, it diminishes the user's chance for pure romantic encounters.”
The warning was written clearly, which caught my attention.
“The more the user protects a couple's feelings, the more one by one the user's own path to pure romance is destroyed — therefore, whether to continue using this power is your decision.”
…So, if I interpret this correctly, since I've already protected Aizawa and Tokunaga's relationship, one of my potential romantic opportunities has already been lost?
The word “pure” shows up way too much, but basically, the more I use this app, the fewer chances I'll have for my own love life… am I on the path to becoming permanently single!?
“…Well, there's no use worrying about it now, right?”
The explanation was so abstract that I didn't quite grasp it.
Anyway, the future is for future me to worry about — for now, if this app will tell me when NTR is happening, I'll just stop it!
(I'm not using it for the thrill of being thanked, but… maybe a little of that satisfaction is part of it.)
With that thought, nothing else happened that day.
Even though I knew for sure there was some delinquent in the school, the app didn't react at all, so there was nothing I could do.
“What now?”
“We're obviously going to hang out! You're coming too, right, Masato?”
“Yeah… but first, the bathroom.”
I told Touya and the others that and left the classroom for the restroom.
On the way, I saw Aizawa and Nakazato talking seriously, but they didn't notice me at all.
“Really…? Did you talk to someone about it…?”
“Yeah… but I don't want to worry anyone too much…”
I was curious what they were discussing, but after finishing in the bathroom, I didn't check on them, and instead headed out with Touya and the others.
“It’s here, it’s here! ITS HEEERRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!”
“W-what's wrong!?”
For the first time since Aizawa, the NetoraSensor had reacted, and I shouted loudly.
Mom was so surprised she rushed into the room, but I'd already finished changing.
“Mom, I'm heading out for a bit.”
“You're hanging out with Touya and the others?”
“Nope — helping someone.”
I flashed a grin, letting my front teeth sparkle as I said it.
I was hyped, knowing that the sensor's reaction meant some tragedy might be unfolding… just wait — I will stop NTR, no matter what!
“…That doesn't suit you, you know?”
Mom's comment almost threw me off, but it didn't stop me.
I dashed out of the house, running at a good speed without even getting winded — a strange sensation similar to what I felt with Aizawa before.
“This… it's all buildings?”
Last time it was a park, but this time, the reaction was in the middle of a city with skyscrapers. The feeling was strangely pure as I arrived at a talent agency.
“…Seriously?”
This wasn't a place someone like me should normally be connected to.
Checking my phone, the sensor was strongly reacting to this building.
“While the app is active, you are a being capable of breaking through the world's injustices. Nothing and no one can interfere with this moment of eliminating cheating bastards — proceed with confidence in what you wish to do, what you aim to accomplish.”
So I'm supposed to break a future flag? Fine, then, you b*****d.
“A talent agency… probably idols or something inside?”
I'm not that knowledgeable about the real world, but I vaguely remembered this agency being somewhat famous. My idol-obsessed friends once got excited talking about it.
“Even if there are idols or talents, it doesn't really matter to me…”
As I stared at the building, I felt my focus sharpen.
Just like the app said, I felt confident that I could overcome anything and save the victims.
“Let's go.”
I entered the agency.
I'd never been inside a place like this, and it felt eerily empty. But if they'd cleared the area for what's happening, the quiet made sense.
“…Here.”
I stopped in front of a room in the back, and the sensor blinked like fresh blood.
“Why… please stop!”
“Why not! Why don't you understand! I've devoted myself to you, worked so hard for you! And yet you have a boyfriend…!? Don't screw with me!!”
After the furious shouting came screams and the sounds of someone being pinned down.
Wait… the woman's voice sounds kind of familiar.
“I took care of you since your debut… and yet you repay me with betrayal…! But fine… I'll make you submit completely… that's why I called them here!”
“Eek!?”
“Haha, this guy's crazy.”
“But the idea of doing whatever he wants to an active idol… I'm looking forward to this.”
I immediately called the police with my phone and entered as if unleashing my sense of justice.
“NTR is unforgivable… and mass assault is absolutely out of the question!”
Justice begins now.
For the record, I wasn't showing my face — I wore a fox mask that had been left there. Neither the perpetrators nor the victim could see me.
And that's fine — I am a warrior protecting love. A simple ‘thank you' is enough… I don't need any reward beyond that.
