Chapter 32: I get a slightly uneasy feeling about this.
Translator: Soafp
“…Damn. I avoided failing, but that was rough.”
Akira was clutching his head in front of me.
All our tests had been returned today, and the classroom was in complete chaos.
Some students were celebrating because their hard work had paid off. Others had studied but received disappointing scores. And some were crying out because their grades were too low and they had been assigned remedial lessons.
“What about you, Shougo?”
“Hmph. A flawless performance.”
“What…?”
Shougo was the type who was relatively good at studying, so he looked completely at ease.
I had him show me his results, and, as expected, his scores were high enough that failing was nowhere near his concerns.
Akira glared at him resentfully, but apparently understood that he couldn't compete with Shougo academically. He soon let out a sigh.
“So? What about you, Mr. Confident?”
“I'm glad you asked.”
I hadn't intended to look confident, but apparently that was how I seemed.
I proudly held my test papers out in front of them. Shougo looked surprised, while Akira stared at me as though he couldn't believe it.
“Since when were you this good at studying?”
“Did you forget? I studied with Mari and Saika.”
The two of them suddenly realized something and glared at me.
“You lucky b*****d!”
“Come on!”
Akira shouted and slapped me on the back, but it didn't hurt in the slightest.
Seeing that I maintained my composure, Shougo asked:
“Does studying with girls really produce results like that? Tell us honestly—what was it actually like?”
“Of course it does. The formulas and methods they taught me came back to me the moment I looked at the problems. I guess pleasant memories really do get engraved deeply into the brain.”
That was exactly how I felt.
There had been some questions I couldn't solve, of course, but I had managed to put what they taught me into practice and achieve results.
(Maybe impure thoughts really can save the world.)
Whenever I tried to remember a formula, what appeared in my mind was the girls' beautiful figures.
While they were teaching me, my entire field of vision had been filled with happiness. Any man who couldn't perform well under those circumstances had no right to call himself a man.
“…?”
While talking with my friends, I noticed Mari watching me intently.
She had probably realized from my expression that my test results had turned out well. The fact that she cared enough to watch me like that made me genuinely happy.
I gave her a thumbs-up, and she smiled softly.
“Hey, Kai.”
“Hmm?”
“It's frustrating that you're so close with Aisaka and the others, but… if something happens, tell us, okay?”
“I know.”
Honestly, these two were incredibly kind friends despite everything.
As for why they were worried about me, they had seen something that morning.
We had happened to meet on the way to school and walked together to the shoe lockers. Once again, there was a piece of paper inside my locker.
“Know your place, you piece of trash. If you keep getting carried away, you'll regret it.”
The handwriting and style were the same as before, so I assumed it was the same person.
But I still wasn't bothered. I had too much peace of mind for something like that to affect me.
“Still…”
Even if I didn't care, my friends did. That meant I should probably do something about it soon.
“If anything happens, I'll tell you.”
“Good.”
“You'd better.”
If it happened again, I decided I would take action.
Honestly, I couldn't help thinking that anyone who acted this maliciously in high school needed to grow up. Still, at least I had a fairly good idea who was responsible.
(They're glaring at me right now, too. It has to be those guys.)
I was getting tired of being glared at all the time.
Summer vacation was approaching, so perhaps I should settle the matter before then.
After that, I didn't pay much attention to them.
Time passed, and lunch break arrived. Since our results had been returned, I decided to talk with Mari and Saika.
“Mari, Saika, thanks. Seriously.”
“No problem.”
“I'm glad we could help.”
I invited them to the cafeteria as soon as lunch break began.
They both agreed readily. Even though all three of us had brought packed lunches, the cafeteria was spacious, so we decided to eat there.
“My scores were really good. I've never done this well before.”
“Really?”
“Then should we study together occasionally from now on?”
Mari nodded at Saika's suggestion.
I wanted to agree too. It wasn't only about this test; as a third-year student, I also needed to begin studying seriously for my future.
“Would that be alright?”
“I'm fine with it.”
“I am too.”
It looked as though our study sessions would continue for quite some time.
Still, why did the phrase “study session with the girls” sound so suggestive?
That had to be because my mind was filthy.
“Should we invite Emu next time? The material would be different, but it might be nice for all of us to study in the same place. Besides, she might feel lonely if we left her out.”
“Yeah. Let's invite Emu.”
It looked as though Emu would be joining us as well.
“…We really stand out.”
Apparently, being with Mari and Saika attracted attention wherever we went.
There were far more people in the cafeteria than in the classroom, and several people were openly wondering what kind of relationship the three of us had.
I simply continued eating while enduring their stares.
“What's wrong?”
I noticed that both girls were looking at me restlessly.
Since I was with them, I knew that neither had been placed under pre-programmed hypnosis today. We hadn't set aside any time for them to serve me.
Once we finished our lunches, that should have been the end of it.
So what was bothering them?
“Kai-kun… Um…”
“Are we not doing anything today? Why am I asking that?”
Neither of them seemed to understand what they were trying to say.
I tilted my head at their behavior. But then I reconsidered.
It felt wrong to have gone to the trouble of making time to be together and then do nothing.
There was still plenty of time before the next class, so I enthusiastically took out my phone and placed them both under hypnosis.
“Alright. Let's go to the empty classroom.”
“Okay.♪”
“Let's go.♪”
They both nodded and stood up.
I led them to our usual empty classroom. Even though they were hypnotized, the fact that they seemed happy to come with me lifted my mood too.
The moment we entered, they pulled me toward the back of the room.
“Let's kiss.”
“I want to. Hurry.”
“Wait, wait. Calm down, you two.”
Being wanted by both of them felt genuinely wonderful.
Lately, I had been thinking that although the girls spoke honestly while hypnotized, they also seemed more uninhibited than usual.
“Whoa…”
They hugged me from both sides and showered my cheeks with kisses, filling me with overwhelming excitement.
My questions about the app continued to multiply, but for now, I was content to enjoy the happiness they gave me.
“Phew.”
Mari and Saika knelt before me as I sat in a chair.
Looking down at them gave me a strange sense of domination.
But considering everything that had happened between us, that feeling seemed out of place. What made me happy was simply being close to them like this.
“Hey, you two.”
“What is it?”
“…?”
Mari raised her head, while Saika looked up at me with her cheeks full.
Looking at both of them, I asked:
“This is incredibly last-minute, but have you ever actually disliked what we do?”
“No.”
“Never.”
“R-Really?”
Their immediate answers caught me off guard.
Looking at my surprised expression, they continued.
“I think we were confused at first… maybe. But it's different now.”
“Yeah. I like this time with you. So you don't need to worry about anything, Kai-kun.”
You don't need to worry.
Those words were my weakness.
Mari took over what Saika had been doing, switching places with her.
“Kai-kun, you really don't need to worry.”
Saika murmured while enjoying the soothing attention.
“If you become worried and stop doing anything with us, that would be worse.”
“Saika?”
“Kai-kun is the one who made us this way, and we want it too. So please… let us remain in your world from now on.”
Her words were filled with an almost overwhelming temptation.
It sounded as though the girls themselves were telling me they would never let me escape.
I chose simply to surrender to the moment.
“You're both strange. Saying something like that to a worthless guy like me.”
For some reason, Saika gave a quiet laugh.
Then, as though she had just thought of something, she asked:
“Should we go all the way?”
“No.”
That was the one thing I would not be swept along on.
I was a gentleman, after all.
