Chapter 80: The Devoted One and the Clingy One

After Sora had gone upstairs to the third floor, Ginji sat on the sofa and checked the clock.
“Still not even ten in the morning, huh…”
It felt like the whole day had already passed, leaving him exhausted. But the day had only just begun—it was still early in the holiday.
Was this technically their first day off as a couple?
“…I didn't plan anything. Maybe we should go out somewhere?”
He had been so focused on the confession that he hadn't thought about what came next.
While he was pondering what to do, Sora came tumbling down the stairs in a flurry.
“S-sorry for the wait!”
“I wasn't waiting. Don't trip.”
Sora burst into the room as if she were rolling in. She wore a boyish outfit: a shirt and short pants. Since she didn't own many clothes, this was her best attempt at a feminine outfit.
She had debated whether to wear her prized one-piece dress but ultimately decided shorts weren't too bad for staying at home.
“…”
Ginji stared at Sora.
“W-what is it?”
“Nothing. Just thought you looked cute.”
“Feh…”
Her cheeks lit up like a firecracker, and she stomped her feet a bit, unable to contain her emotions.
Then she slowly approached Ginji, sat on the sofa, and hugged him tightly.
“…You've made me fall for you this much. What are you gonna do about it?”
“What'll happen?”
As Ginji gently stroked her head, Sora closed her eyes, savoring the touch. Ginji couldn't help but think she was like a little puppy.
In response to his question, Sora looked up at him with a soft smile.
“I'll make you coffee. Have you eaten breakfast?”
“I grabbed something quick before heading out. You haven't, right? Are you okay?”
“I'm not that hungry. But it'd be a waste not to do something, so I might make some sandwiches.”
“I'll help.”
“Nope. This is today's ‘devoted girlfriend' moment.”
With that, she cheerfully disappeared into the kitchen. Not ten minutes later, she returned with iced coffee and sandwiches.
They were carefully made sandwiches with lettuce, tomato, and cheese—clearly crafted with care.
“That was fast…”
“It's just a matter of putting the ingredients together. Here, say ahh.”
She casually held a sandwich out toward Ginji like it was the most natural thing in the world.
“Shouldn't you be eating that?”
“I was planning to, but I made yours too. So—ahh.”
“Well, I'll eat it then… ahh.”
He took a bite. The thick-sliced tomato combined with the salty cheese made for a delicious combo.
He felt a slight sense of defeat, getting fed like this, but Sora looked so happy, he figured it was fine.
Still, letting her have all the wins didn't sit right.
“Alright then, now it's my turn. Ahh.”
Trying to return the favor, he offered a bite to Sora. She eagerly chomped down—but her mouth was too small to handle the whole thing, and some of the tomato squished out.
“Oops… hehe.”
“Tissue?”
“Over there.”
Ginji reached for a cat-shaped tissue holder where Sora pointed.
When he handed her a tissue, she leaned forward with a mischievous grin.
“Nn~”
It was the look of a kid who knew they were being cheeky.
“…”
Avoiding her teasing gaze, Ginji gently wiped her mouth. The soft sensation of her skin lingered on his fingers.
“You're more of a clingy one than a devoted one.”
“Well… I am your girlfriend…”
Sora's voice turned a bit uncertain, but Ginji quickly held out another sandwich.
“Yeah. So feel free to cling to me all you want.”
“Mmph… Ginji, you're such a good boyfriend.”
With satisfied smiles, they took turns feeding each other.
As for the cleanup, Ginji insisted they do it together.
While standing side by side at the sink washing the coffee cups, Sora suddenly examined one of the glasses closely.
“Hmm… I have some dishes for guests, but I think I want some specifically for Ginji.”
“Guest dishes work just fine for me.”
“But you're not a guest—you're my boyfriend, so that's a no-go. And honestly, I don't even have that many guest dishes. It'd be way more convenient to have some just for you.”
Ginji glanced at the cupboard. Sure enough, there weren't many dishes. There was even a beer mug or two on top of the shelf that hadn't been used in years.
“Then let's go buy some. I've still got a little allowance left this month.”
“I'd say ‘hell yeah,' but I'm kinda in the mood to just chill today. How about we go tomorrow instead?”
Finishing up the dishes, Sora dried her hands and stretched.
“That's fine. So what should we do today?”
Ginji didn't want to just go their separate ways here—it felt too soon.
Sora took his hand and led him back into the living room. She pulled out a game from the TV stand.
“I bought the same game you have at your place. Since we're here, wanna play it together? I got two controllers and everything.”
“Hey, nice. Let's take it easy at home today, then.”
“Agreed!”
Several hours later, after a gaming session together, Sora was fast asleep beside Ginji with the controller still in hand.
Ginji smiled gently, stood up, and rolled up his sleeves. It was just past 1 p.m.
He figured it was time to make lunch for his sleepy girlfriend—and so he stood in front of the Hello〇.
