Chapter 75: Everyday Life at Blue Ring
Translator: Soafp
It was almost a month since the attack by the bandits.
Remaining in the Blue Ring territory was limited to about one more week.
Myself, El, and Marl, of course, as well as Olivia, Faristea, Anna-sensei, Lewis, and Nero all seemed to have grown fond of Blue Ring, complaining that they didn’t want to leave.
During this month, since the women had a lot of free time, I suggested to them to learn magic from my mother.
Whether it was due to boredom or because they could learn magic from our mentor, they all seemed quite positive and eager to ask for lessons.
Thus, after lunch, my mother, Ashera, Olivia, Faristea, Anna-sensei, Marl, and Yurisys engaged in magical practice. Though it seemed like half of it was more like playing, it was fine as long as they were enjoying it.
Faristea and Yurisys, being elves, apparently had their unique magical systems, but they didn’t seem fixated on that and enjoyed my mother’s training.
Ashera had become quite accustomed to it. Now, they all addressed each other more casually. Ashera called Olivia by her first name and referred to Faristea as “Faris,” establishing themselves as proper friends.
Conversations were no longer as formal, and they interacted naturally with us.
This is how the women are.
As for the male members—myself, El, Lewis, and Nero—we were fulfilling adventurer requests and managed to raise all our ranks to F. It became a memorable story to tell Ashera, who seemed slightly disappointed when she heard about it.
Now, let’s go back five days after the bandit attack.
“El, Father has allowed outdoor activities without guards if we’re with someone.”
“Really?”
“Why not take on a request? The one from the Adventurer’s Guild?”
“Oh, you mean the Adventurer’s Guild?”
“Yeah.”
“Nii-sama, are you registered with the Adventurer’s Guild?”
“Not in the capital. Lewis and Nero are, though. Ashera was F-ranked.”
“Even Ashera nee-sama… I want to register too.”
“It’s not a bad idea to have it. Shall we go register tomorrow?”
“Yes.”
We made a promise to go to the adventurer’s guild the next day and went to sleep.
The following day, after finishing breakfast, I spoke to El.
“El, shall we go to the adventurer’s guild?”
“Yes.”
“Then, let’s be fully armed.”
“Do we need to be armed to register?”
“If we’re going, let’s complete some easy requests.”
“Understood.”
“Wait a moment! I’m going too.”
“Of course, I’m going too.”
Lewis and Nero, who had been listening to our conversation, joined in.
Even though El and I were allowed to go without an escort, I looked at my father.
“Father, when Lewis and Nero are with us, do we still need an escort?”
“They’re guests, so of course, you do.”
My father responded with a pressured smile.
“Well, I guess it can’t be helped. I’ll take care of them.”
“Is that okay, Rafi?”
“I’ve been inactive lately, so it’s just what I need.”
“Alright, sorry, but I’m counting on you.”
“Leave it to me. Now, Lewis, Nero, let’s go.”
“”Y-Yes….””
It seemed that Lewis and Nero were forming a party of three with my mother to take on a request. We were off the hook, and we quickly left the scene.
Returning to my room, I equipped my weapons and armor. I needed to replenish food supplies from the kitchen.
As I left the room, El happened to come out as well.
“Let’s replenish our supplies at the kitchen.”
“Understood.”
“Got it.”
The three of us—myself, El, and the mysterious voice—headed to the kitchen. We received three days’ worth of dried meat from the head chef, making sure we were well-prepared. We then promptly made our way to the adventurer’s guild to accept a request.
Even though it wasn’t our first time going out without an escort, the fact that it was officially permitted made me feel a sense of growth and excitement. It was about time to address the unspoken issue. I had to ask.
“Is it alright if Ashera comes along?”
“Yeah.”
“Alright.”
The mysterious voice turned out to be Ashera. From the moment we left the room, she naturally joined us. This was the first time the three of us had ventured out together in a while, bringing back memories and a hint of excitement.
Initially, it was just the three of us. But over time, with Garl, Barret, Marl, and Tamei, our world expanded, and now there were countless people around us. Nostalgically reminiscing, we enjoyed the walk to the guild.
Upon arriving at the adventurer’s guild, it was time to register. However, Ashera decided not to join the guild.
“Ashera, aren’t you joining the guild?”
“No. It gets noisy.”
“Noisy? I don’t quite understand, but can El and I decide on the requests?”
“Yeah. I’ll leave it to you.”
“Then, wait here.”
“Okay.”
It seems Ashera decided to wait outside the guild. Perhaps there’s someone she doesn’t want to encounter?
“All right. El, shall we go?”
“Yes.”
We opened the doors of the Adventurer’s Guild and stepped inside. As we walked toward the receptionist, one adventurer blocked our way.
Unable to proceed, we attempted to take another path, but another adventurer obstructed us.
“What’s your intention?”
Honestly, this was becoming quite troublesome.
“Oi, you! Weren’t you the one who completed a request with an escort the other day?”
“An adventurer’s job is to provide escorts. Kids who need protection should stay at home and suck on their mom’s breasts.”
“I see. So because you were too scared to say that in front of an escort, you’re barking now when there isn’t one.”
“Oi, kid, don’t get too cocky.”
Four people surrounded me.
“Miss Receptionist, is this okay?”
“Drawing weapons inside the guild is prohibited. Fights are at your own risk, so please be responsible.”
Seemed like we were being scolded for causing trouble. It appeared that they misunderstood, thinking I was seeking help.
“It’s at our own risk, huh. You guys.”
“Kid, it seems you won’t understand unless you experience some pain.”
“Enough already. Just be a bit gentle. That’s it.”
“Come over here a bit…”
“I’m not free either. If you’re coming, then come quickly. It’s a hassle, so all of you.”
“This kid is getting too cocky.”
“The damn kid.”
The four men attacked me simultaneously, but with a momentary enhancement, I gently patted each one on the backside.
“One…”
“Two…”
“Three…”
“And four.”
The men fell forward, eyes rolled back. Unable to help it, I cast healing magic on the four of them and laid them in a corner.
Returning to the receptionist’s counter with El.
“We’d like to register as adventurers, please.”
The receptionist, who had frozen until she heard El’s words, started moving again.
“Y-yes. Y-you want to register as adventurers? B-both of you?”
“Just me”
“Yes! I’m sorry. I’ll prepare the documents right away.”
It seemed that the receptionist thought we were upset about her earlier playful attitude, as she worked with teary eyes.
“Oh, you don’t need to be that nervous.”
“N-no! I-I’m fine!”
She looked so frightened that it almost felt pitiful.
“El, I’ll be waiting outside.”
“Understood…”
El gave a wry smile. I walked slowly out of the guild. Was it my fault?
Outside the guild, Ashera was sitting on a stone in a corner.
“What happened?”
“I got into a fight with some guys who bothered me.”
“I see.”
“…”
“…”
“You know, weak guys tend to pick fights…”
“I understand.”
“It’s mysterious…”
“Mysterious, indeed…”
Despite the awkward atmosphere, El poked his head out of the door.
“Nii-sama, Ashera nee-sama, I got the adventurer cards.”
“Congratulations, El.”
“Congratulations, Elphus.”
“Thank you, Nii-sama, Ashera nee-sama.”
“Well then, shall we take on a request?”
“Yeah.”
This time, it seemed Ashera would also join us inside the guild. Once we entered, the surroundings suddenly became noisy.
“What’s going on?”
“Don’t mind it. Let’s check the requests. If we form a party, we can take up to E-rank requests.”
“Sounds good.”
G-rank requests still involved helping out around town. F-rank, my nemesis, was herb gathering! And for E-rank, there was a request to subjugate a massive boar called Wild Boar.
“Where can we find this Wild Boar?”
“I know the location. It’s often found where I picked Aldo and the others up.”
“Oi, were you really going to pick us up, or were you just coincidentally hunting the boar when we returned?”
Ashera awkwardly averted her gaze from me.
“Is that really the case? I was so touched!”
“You are saying don’t understand.”
“What’s that! Even Faristea can speak human language better than you!”
While exchanging banter, we accepted the request to subjugate the Wild Boar.
It’s been a while since this trio has been together. In the past, it was always the three of us. With a hint of nostalgia, we moved toward our destination.
