Renya was lying on the bed in the hospital room with a bandage wrapped around his head. His breathing is stable, and if it weren’t for the bandage, he would appear to be sleeping normally.

Judging with the way Renya speaks and how he's so friendly with Ruri, it's definitely the time before she got falsely accused of being a molester. The two years he spent dealing with those distressing and upsetting events were not remembered.
Sigh. He may forget, but the world will not. I fear when it bites him back and forces him to remember those times.

Probably my second-least favorite plot device behind any kind of blackmail plot. I'm pretty sure I can already see what'll come of this too: he interacts with his CFs normally, deepens relationships with even his normal classmates, maybe joins the soccer club again, yadda yadda yadda, and when he regains his memories he ends up deciding to stay home and ends up far more willing to build trust with people again. I'd be genuinely surprised if it doesn't turn out like I expect.

Oh COME on. The only thing worse then an amnesia plot is dopplegangers and time travel.

I really hope that the friends try to lie to Renya that they've been friends for the past 2 years. Too many regret-porn stories end up having everyone make up and fix the misunderstandings so quickly once the story begins, I want one where everyone makes the problem worse.

Well, it seems now Renya has lost his memories. I really think that he might feel even more disappointed with his childhood friends since he will be able to see that if something happens to him he can't count on them.
Well, it's different now but whe it happened the first they didn't help him.
