Chapter 97 extra: Stop yearning
Translator: Soafp
“I feel like I’ve been stared at lately.” (Kyoka)
“Heh” (Yuki)
Goddess-senpai’s self-consciousness seems to have reached its peak.
Today, she is still going to be on the emergency staircase, asking, “Am I popular?” But unfortunately, there is no medicine for the goddesses in the lower world.
Regrettably, I plucked a nose hair. Ouch…
But, these little etiquettes are essential. I pay attention to my appearance, you know. It’s a lesson from my sister’s education.
“Don’t give me such a half-hearted reaction! It’s mainly your fault, you know!” (Kyoka)
“Blaming others like that won’t make you likable. No growth without self-reflection.” (Yuki)
“But it’s 100% your fault, isn’t it!?!” (Kyoka)
In the second year, Goddess-senpai divides popularity equally with Goddess Yuri-san, but recently, Goddess-senpai’s stock has been soaring. It’s a continuous high. In fact, I often see her being approached. In the past, it was mostly boys, but these days, girls may be more aggressive.
“That’s not a bad thing. What’s there to complain about?” (Yuki)
“Uuugh… It’s just that it feels uneasy somehow. I don’t mind it, but I’m not used to being liked so much. And, when people come to me with their problems, I can’t give them advice.” (Kyoka)
“Lonely people’s struggles, huh?” (Yuki)
“I’m not lonely!!!” (Kyoka)
I’m glared at by a pretty intimidating Goddess-senpai. I wonder if she’s aware of being a goddess.
Anyway, I understand what Goddess-senpai is trying to say. Suddenly being in the limelight leaves us loners flustered, not knowing what to do.
Even Shakado often loses sight of herself. Apparently, at such times, she smells the earth to calm her mind. Larvae of a rhinoceros beetle…?
“Well it is true I’ve made more girl friends lately? I feel like helping out younger students who rely on me, but when it comes to relationship advice, I wish I could ask someone else instead…” (Kyoka)
Goddess-senpai, while twirling her hair with her index finger, was eating a store-bought muffin (not Death). It seems she isn’t that interested in organic food.
“But, you know, I suddenly feel like I’m getting more attention. It’s not negative attention, so it’s fine, but it makes me restless. Hey, Yukito, do you know anything about this?” (Kyoka)
“I do.” (Yuki)
“You know!?” (Kyoka)
“Yes.” (Yuki)
Goddess-senpai was astonished. Well, of course I knew. I removed my ‘increased-tax’ glasses and gestured to Goddess-senpai.
“Come over here for a moment.” (Yuki)
“Hmm? Is something up?” (Kyoka)
Standing up from the emergency stairs, I turned around and pointed to something quietly placed among the clutter under the stairs.
“I think that might be the cause.” (Yuki)
“That altar-like thing? No way! Is there actually something worshipped here? No no, I’m starting to get a little scared!” (Kyoka)
Goddess Senpai was trembling with excitement. It seemed like she wanted to become one of us. Certainly, as the guardian spirit or rather, the goddess senpai of this place, overlapping jurisdictions might be a concern. Well, no need to worry.
“Don’t worry. I set that up.” (Yuki)
In front of a simple altar, there was also a mini offertory box. When shaken, it made a jingling sound. It seemed to be quietly thriving. There was even a mini honden (main hall) and a bell attached to a string that could be shaken. I had also decorated it with a divine object.
“It’s a sacred place, you know. I have to properly enshrine it.” (Yuki)
“That’s me!” (Kyoka)
Seeing the divine object, Goddess Senpai stomped her feet. Not good. This could be bad. If I angered Goddess Senpai, there might be divine retribution.
“I’m sorry! I’ll make a more sophisticated divine object next time, so please forgive me for today!” (Yuki)
“That’s not the issue!” (Kyoka)
Hmm? Then what’s the problem?
While trying to prevent her from destroying the altar, I continued to appease Goddess Senpai.
“Mou! You really are something! You really are!” (Kyoka)
“I get that a lot.” (Yuki)
“You’re not supposed to say that!” (Kyoka)
Returning to the emergency staircase, Goddess Senpai scolded me while carefully observing the wooden-carved divine object. How gracious of her.
“Anyway, when did you make something like this? It’s strangely intricate” (Kyoka)
“Well, since you’re a goddess, I thought some embellishment might be necessary. Your reputation is at stake. So, I secretly spread rumors that if someone makes a wish here, it might come true through the divine power of the goddess.” (Yuki)
“You’re the root of evil beyond redemption!” (Kyoka)
The goddess’s altar is one of the Seven Wonders of Shoyo High School. Among the seven wonders, three are things I developed. The remaining four are also on my list for development, so please wait a bit longer.
“Speaking of which, it’s fine as a wooden carving, but if you add color, it’ll look like a figurine.” (Kyoka)
“I actually considered that at first. Look at this. Garage Kit Goddess Senpai.” (Yuki)
I pulled out the unpainted Garage Kit Goddess Senpai from my bag.
“When I thought about painting this, I realized it might be disrespectful, especially if there were underwear details.” (Yuki)
“The stage of disrespect came too late! Why didn’t you think about that earlier!?” (Kyoka)
Creating a Yuri-san figure is different. Yuri-san’s figure has her approval, but Goddess Senpai’s requires permission from the Goddess Senpai version. Wooden carving was the limit.
“Anyway, I’ve gathered some offertory money. Look, this much. Goddess Senpai earned it. Please use it to buy some pierogi.” (Yuki)
“Is it okay for me to take this?”
“Who else is here? Goddess Senpai is the main deity of this altar.” (Yuki)
“I’ve never worked a part-time job before, so this might be the first time I’ve earned money…” (Kyoka)
“This is passive income. Wait, hang on? Since you’re a goddess and don’t age, is it immortal income?” (Yuki)
Ultimately, whether wishes come true isn’t the main issue.
It’s about confessing worries, gaining encouragement, or firming up determination through making wishes. The purpose is to provide positive mental support through companionship.
The goddess’s altar was created to be a place of solace like that. Though often associated with praying to gods, if one can’t bear their burdens alone, it’s necessary to vent out before reaching a breaking point.
After all, this school has a peculiarly high number of troubled students. Despite me not being a goddess, the fact that I’m frequently approached for advice and concerns proves it.
With the goddess’s altar, students feel lighter, my troubles reduce, Goddess Senpai’s popularity soars, and she even earns labor rewards. Truly an idea that benefits everyone, hitting four birds with one stone.
“Passive income is amazing… Haa, I don’t want to work in the future.” (Kyoka)
“The reason why the gender gap in Japan is so low is also because there are so many women with such low work ethic! Please don’t make it sound like your future dream is to be a housewife, even though you’re young!” (Yuki)
“Why am I the one getting scolded!?” (Kyoka)
Rest assured, I’ve thoroughly lectured Goddess Senpai on this matter.

damnit i caught up, i really hope to see that bastard going to prison😤
Thanks For The Chapter!!!
I hope the author didn't abandon this WN to focus on the LN
When's the next chapter? It's 5th February. And does anyone know when does this novel end? How many more volumes/chapters and will Yukito end up with someone? Because as far as I know, he can't see anyone romantically for now and a lot of girls have shown interest in him.
When will the next chapter come?
I have a question, I got distracted by another novel and I haven't read this novel in a while and I just caught up, "Kyoka" is like "Soma", a goddess for Yukki?
I will wait for the next one (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
