Novel: Idol girl
The winter break is over and the third semester started today.
As the third semester began, I realized that my time as a first-year high school student would be coming to an end in a short time.
It has been a year in which many things have happened, but when I think back on it, even that seems to have happened in the blink of an eye.
However, there is still the third semester left, so I hope that I can continue to enjoy my remaining days as a first-year student with Shi-chan.
–I thought about the fact that we would not necessarily be in the same class in the second year, either.
As I was thinking about this, I received a tsun (poke) on my back from the seat behind me.
I turned around and there was Shi-chan with a big smile on her face.
“No, it’s nothing♪”
Shi-chan was like this the whole time today. She seemed happy to be able to go to school together again from the third semester and seemed to be in a state of high spirits the whole time.
Normally, a student would be disappointed that the vacation is over, but Shi-chan seems to be the opposite.
But I could understand the reason without being told, and it made me so happy that I couldn’t stand it.
And since I also enjoy just being with Shi-chan, we share the same feelings.
While I was squirming around, tickled by her tsuntsun attacks, my homeroom teacher took a box from the side of her desk and put it on the podium.
“Okay, now that it’s the third semester, let’s switch seats!”
With that one word from the teacher, the tsunts from behind stopped.
The teacher’s words stopped the tsunts, and when I looked back, I saw Shi-chan with a pale expression of despair on her face.
Shi-chan probably thought she would stay in this seat for the rest of her freshman year.
However, the world was not so easy.
When a new semester begins, it is accompanied by a change of seats.
It was probably not only in this class — no, it was probably like that in most schools in the world.
So our class, unlike Shi-chan’s intention, will be changing seats from now on.
However, in the past, as soon as people heard about the seat change, there was a lot of excitement in the classroom for the seat next to Shi-chan’s, but this time it was not so.
The reason, of course, was that everyone knew about the relationship between Shi-chan and me.
Shimizu-san, who is known as one of the two most beautiful women in Japan, has Takayuki, and this year, I found out that Mikitani-san and Kengo are also dating.
According to Kengo, the two of them who were heartbroken by me and Shi-chan started to get in touch with each other, and while laughing and sharing their wounds, they hit it off and things progressed very quickly from then on.
When I heard the reason, all I could do was laugh, but whatever the reason, as long as they were facing each other and loving each other, I thought that was all that mattered.
Surely it is very easy to find a reason why it is not good enough for the other person.
But if we keep doing that, nothing will ever come of it.
So, I think it’s great that the two of them are now accepting each other after knowing that they were originally looking in different directions, and I honestly congratulate them on that.
Well, as it turned out, even Mikiya-san, who had been soaring in popularity in the class since the festival, now had a boyfriend, and the boys in the class no longer seemed to be as enthusiastic as before.
And just like last time, the lottery draw began, starting with the seats by the window.
As we were at the end of the corridor, our turn was inevitably at the end, and as a result, by the time our turn came around, we had already confirmed that we were going to be seated in different places.
Well, it was a miracle that we could be seated near each other twice, or perhaps we were so lucky that we thought God was watching us somewhere.
But to be honest, I don’t care where I sit.
Of course I would be happy if I had a seat close to her, but I already have such a strong bond with Shi-chan that I can be okay even if I don’t have a seat close to her.
Thinking this, I turned around to look at Shi-chan behind me and saw her with teary eyes and a blatantly sad expression on her face.
“We’re going to sit apart, but we’re in the same classroom, right?”
“Why are you so unconcerned about it?”
“Eh? Well, it’s just that—-“
I was too embarrassed to say in front of the class that it’s because I feel I’m so connected to her that I don’t have to worry about such things, I stammered in reply.
However, if I didn’t say anything here, I might have caused Shi-chan to lose faith in me, so I hurriedly took out my phone so that the teacher wouldn’t find it.
I quickly send a Lime message to Shi-chan.
[“Just because we’re sitting apart doesn’t mean that our relationship is over, right? I love you.]
When Shi-chan confirms my Lime, she looks down and freezes as she stares at her phone.
I can’t see her expression with her bangs hanging down, but this time, a Lime from Shi-chan arrives on my phone.
[Yes, right. I’m okay now! But what should I do? I’m so happy I can’t show my face to everyone right now.]
Seeing this Lime from Shi-chan, it made my cheeks relax.
I thought to myself, “I don’t want everyone to see me grinning like this,” and hurriedly covered my mouth with one hand.
“—-And so, let’s do our best in the third semester.”
“—-Yes, Takkun, that …… made me so happy, thank you.”
When Shi-chan looked up in reply, she too was smiling shyly with a little redness in her cheeks.
As I smiled back at Shi-chan, I heard a comment from next to me.
“You know, we’re leaving, too.”
‘Well, let’s leave the two love bird alone.”
Takayuki and Shimizu-san were smiling and laughing as they watched us smiling at each other.
Both Shi-chan and I turned red and quickly made excuses to them, but it was already too late.
In the third semester, I ended up in the front row on the corridor side and Shi-chan in the middle of the class, but I was looking forward to the distance between us.
