Chapter 48: A Development That Doesn’t Betray the Readers’ Expectations
And so, I was dragged around by Temari to check out the clubs, but it seemed she had finally decided which one to join.
“…’Kutabiremouke’? What’s that club?”
“Hmm, it looks like a club for enjoying various sports. They do exchanges with other universities, and I heard there’s something like a branch at T Women’s University too.”
“T Women’s University…?”
“Yeah, apparently Mahiro is a member of this club over at T Women’s University. She said they have a lot of members, it’s pretty laid-back, and really fun, so I’m thinking of joining too. You should come with me, Yuuya.”
No, you go to different universities, so why the hell do you have to do activities together with Mahiro?
Or rather, what even is a general sports club? I only have experience with Shorinji Kempo, so I probably wouldn’t enjoy it even if I joined.
Thus, refusing was the only option.
“I’ll pass for now. If it isn’t fun, it’s just a waste of time, after all.”
“Eh? Why not? If you join a club, you might even end up getting a cute girlfriend, you know?”
“Hahaha, those fleeting hopes were smashed into tiny pieces right after I enrolled.”
“Oh, really… Though I bet there are tons of cute juniors around, too?”
“I’m perfectly content with just you as a junior, Temari. First of all, having like twelve juniors and having to strategize simultaneous, overlapping schedules would be a colossal pain in the a*s.”
“…”
Not quite a sister, but a junior princess. I had absolutely no intention of becoming an ideal senpai, so brace yourself, Temari… Hm?
Why are you blushing all the way to your ears right now?
“What’s wrong, Temari? Are you feeling sick?”
“H-Hah!?”
“No, your face is just beat red. Looks like you’ve got a fever or something.”
“T-That’s not it at all! W-Well, whatever, it’s fine. I promised Mahiro I’d do activities with her for now, so I’m going to go submit my membership form at mach speed!”
“I really don’t think you need to register at mach speed… Hey, you don’t have to run off like that.”
I felt a sense of unnaturalness from Temari as she bolted toward the club reception desk like she was running away.
Thinking about how Temari and Mahiro would happily get along doing club activities and color a page in their respective youths made me feel just a tiny bit alienated.
Well, words once spoken cannot be swallowed. I decided to live my life unbound.
―・―・―・―・―・―・―
In the end, for some unknown reason, Naegi-san ended up joining the exact same club, and the three of them were happily doing club activities together, or so I was told.
“Kutabiremouke… huh. It sounds like the kind of club where you just get exhausted for absolutely no reason the moment you join.”
“…Hm? Kutabiremouke?”
“…? You’re… who were you again? I think it was Mob D-guy…”
“Don’t tell me you forgot my name?”
While I was talking to myself in a university lecture hall, the Mob D-guy who had previously provided me with useful information called out to me.
“Ah, my bad, my bad. Uhm… Saso-uke-kun, was it?”
“Don’t screw with me, Nakanishi. I’m Sasou!”
Oops, a completely corrupted cluster of data in the corner of my memory had just been restored. Come to think of it, he did have a rare surname, Sasou-kun from Aomori. My memory of him probably vanished because I was disappointed that he was from the Nanbu dialect faction when I had been expecting the Tsugaru dialect.
“So, Sasou. It seems you reacted to the name ‘Kutabiremouke’?”
“Y-Yeah… I thought you might be talking about that sports club.”
“I don’t know about ‘that’ sports club, but I’m talking about a club at our university.”
“Ah, just as I thought… I don’t want to assume, but did someone you know join it?”
“Exactly. By the way, apparently Naegi-san, who returned to school, joined it too.”
“Hah!? That’s really bad!”
For whatever reason, Sasou’s tone sounded panicked. This was definitely a setup for me to probe deeper.
“Why is it bad? What’s so bad about it?”
“This is dead serious, but you better tell Naegi-san and your acquaintance not to attend the club’s coming-of-age drinking party.”
“No, well, they probably wouldn’t attend while they’re underage anyway.”
“But they organize drinking parties whenever a club member comes of age, right? Like, a ‘Congratulations on Turning Twenty’ kind of thing.”
“I wouldn’t know.”
“That’s exactly the problem. People drinking alcohol for the first time have absolutely no concept of pacing or limits. And so, the ones celebrating their coming of age end up getting blackout drunk with high probability. And when that happens…”
“……What happens?”
I could somewhat imagine it, but I dared to ask anyway.
“It’s obvious, isn’t it? The start of a dizzying, depraved orgy. And they even record videos of it.”
“Is that legit information?”
Countermeasures against that kind of blackmail should be pretty strict nowadays, yet there are still clubs out there pulling this s**t. Guess the Superior Free genes are impossible to eradicate, huh.
“I wouldn’t joke about something like this. Well, apparently the main victims are the students from T Women’s University who do joint club activities with them, though.”
“…Hah?”
“There are a lot of girls from good families over there, right? So their guards are down, and they’re all the type of girls who would rather die from embarrassment than have their parents see a sex tape of them. It seems to be a pattern where the victims just suffer in silence without ever reporting it.”
“…”
“Of course, I think there are girls from our university who have fallen victim to it, too. The more prestigious the university, the less that sort of thing comes out into the open.”
So the “general sports club” slogan was actually true. As expected, the most addictive sport of all is the one you play naked on a bed!! It’s a mixed martial arts tournament covered in every juice imaginable—not just sweat, but squirt, endorphins, pre-cum, and dick milk.
……
Wait.
Come to think of it, Mahiro’s birthday is coming up soon, isn’t it.
If they’re planning a drinking party to coincide with it, that’s incredibly suspicious…
I had no choice but to ask Temari, which led to this.
“I just want to ask, does the club have any drinking parties scheduled anytime soon?”
When I sent the message to Temari on RINE, a reply came immediately.
“Yup. A ‘Congratulations on Coming of Age’ drinking party for me and Mahiro.”
Penis! Wait, no, bingo!
Or rather, Temari was an early bloomer too, huh. I just found out.
