Chapter 9: Villainous guildmaster receives a request for help from the strongest swordsman
One morning, when I arrived at work, the guild hall was bustling with activity.
The guild hall was buzzing with activity as I arrived at work one morning, “I heard that Roselia has returned!
“The guild’s strongest female swordswoman, Roselia of Fresh Blood?”
“Seriously! Did you succeed in defeating the S-rank monster, the flaming dragon?”
“As expected of an S-rank adventurer!”
That’s when it happened.
“Guildmaster! Oh, Guildmaster!”
There was a shadow coming from the back of the guild hall, cutting through the crowd and heading towards me.
She hit the floor with a thud and she hugged me.
“It’s been a long time, Guildmaster!”
“How are you, Roselia?”
A tall, beautiful girl with bright red hair kisses me on the cheek.
Her name is Roselia, and she is our number one vanguard front adventurer.
“I thought I was going to die from loneliness when I couldn’t see Guildmaster for so many nights.”
“People can’t die of loneliness.”
“That may be true for some people, but for me, Guildmaster is the one I love the most♡. Oh Guildmaster ♡”
I was about to be kissed by her for the second time, when it happened.
“Whoa, wait a minute!”
Suddenly, a gust of wind blew in front of me.
The next thing I knew, a woman the size of my palm appeared in front of me.
“Fairy?”
“I shouldn’t keep my mouth shut. Master. Why are you getting close to this man?”
The fairy woman called Roselia her master.
“Who is this?”
“Her name is Misery. She was attacked by a fire dragon and I saved her. We took her in because she had nowhere else to go.”
The fairy named Misery turns hostile towards me.
“Are you the strongest man in the world, like Master said?”
“No.”
“Yes, you are. And you’re my future husband.”
Roselia hugged my arm with a tight squeeze.
But a gust of wind blew towards me, and I fell on my butt.
“Misery! What are you doing?”
“I don’t approve of him. I won’t have my master marrying such a weak looking man. I don’t care who you are.”
Apparently, the fairy doesn’t like me.
“Also, I’m sorry, Guildmaster.”
“Don’t worry about it. It’s not your fault.”
“So that’s it! You’re the one who’s messing with my master!”
“Damn it! Misery! You need to reflect a little!”
“I’m sorry but I don’t want to apologize to this man!”
When the wind blew, Misery disappeared.
“A high-ranking wind fairy is a rarity.”
“Yes, she’s an excellent support, so I brought her into the guild, but she’s got some personality issues…”
“No problem. I didn’t choose her for her personality.”
“By the way, Gilmas, do you have any more requests?” Roselia asks with great motivation.
“It’s still early. You’ve just returned home. Get enough rest.”
“No, I’m fine. I want to repay you by completing as many requests as possible.”
With an appraising eye, I look at Roselia’s health condition.
It’s true that she’s recovered all of her strength, energy, and magic power.
That’s what I’d expect from someone so young.
I take out a request form from my magic bag and hand it to her.
“I received a request for support from a guild in a nearby town. They’ve discovered a new dungeon. I want you to head there with your party members.”
The dungeons in our world arise spontaneously one day.
When a new dungeon is discovered, the guild of the nearby city takes charge and sends out a team to investigate and find out what’s inside.
“According to the advance team, even the shallowest levels had A-rank monsters.”
“I’m sure that’s where my party comes in.”
“If you want to explore the shallow layers that’s fine, but if you want to investigate the deeper areas, you need to be skilled. To be honest, I’m not sure what to do. And you guys just came back. You can refuse.”
“No, I accept! It’s a request from my beloved Guildmaster!” Rosalia said, full of enthusiasm
“It’s just for internal investigation. I’ll make sure you have all the supplies you need, but if you ever run into the dungeon boss, stay away from him.”
“Yes, I know exactly what you mean. The dungeon master of a high-ranked dungeon is a high-level monster. I know that I will die if I challenge them without planning.”
Roselia has been an adventurer for a long time.
There was no way I would need to go off on my own and try to enter the room of the main dungeon boss monster.
… Or at least, I thought so
★
A few days after
It’s been a few days since Roselia went to the dungeon to investigate.
“Please! Save my master!”
Misery, the Wind Fairy, came back to the guild hall.
“What’s wrong? What’s going on?”
The story is as follows.
Roselia and her expedition team went to investigate the dungeon.
On the way, they found a room with a boss monster.
Roselia and her friends are having a hard time facing the powerful boss monster inside, so Misery uses magic to call for help outside.
The Wind Fairy could use the magic of omnipresence.
In simple terms, omnipresence is the art of alter ego.
It allows you to create and remotely control an entity identical to yourself.
The fairy who came outside to call for help is a fake creation, and the main body is still in the dungeon.
“…… Master tried to stop me from going forwards. But I took the liberty of thinking it would be okay, and when I got inside, I saw the biggest, most powerful monster I’ve ever seen.”
Tears flowed down Misery’s face.
“It may be because of pride that I didn’t take the steps to scout out the area omnipresently. I know this is a selfish request, but please! Please help me save my master who is stranded underground!”
On the other hand, the guild members who were listening to the conversation around me nodded.
“All right, all right!”
“Let’s go! We all help each other out when we’re in trouble”
“That’s what we’re made out of!”
“No. I can’t allow it.” I spoke to the excited guild members.
“What the hell …..!? What? Why?”
“It’s a boss that even Roselia, the most powerful member of the guild, has trouble with. Can you guys go there and defeat it?”
“No, that’s …….”
It’s not that the members of Gem of Heavenly Gift are low level.
However, compared to the top of the guild, Roselia, they are inferior in ability.
We don’t know how dangerous the new dungeon is, and the strength of the labyrinth master is unclear.
“We can’t send you to such a place and let so many die in vain.”
“So you’re abandoning your members? How dare you! You’re the worst, Guildmaster!”
Misery glared at me, tears streaming down her face.
“Frederica.”
“I have already prepared.”
The maid, Frederica, appears noiselessly in front of me with a backpack on her back.
“Misery, let’s go.”
“What? What? What do you mean?”
One of the guildsmen says to the bewildered fairy in a cheerful voice
“We’re safe now, Misery!”
“Our trusty boss is going to help Roselia-sama!”
Misery looked at me, her eyes blinking.
“But, you’re abandoning my master, aren’t you?.”
“I never said anything about that. Here we go.”
I snapped back and left the guild hall, taking Frederica with me.
“Why are you helping me? Even though I said something horrible to you?”
The fairy, Misery, is following behind me.
“Don’t get me wrong. It’s not for you.”
Roselia is our main asset, and losing her would be a great loss.
“Even though she’s the one who made the request, I’m the one responsible for choosing her for it. Besides, it’s still too early for me to let her go.”
“Thanks for the laugh, but there’s nothing you can do about it, is there?”
Frederica then shakes her head and addresses Misery “You should know that mercy is not the only quality our guildmaster possesses.”
