Chapter 1: Corrupt guildmaster banned his member.
“You don’t have to come to my house anymore, Act. You’re a useless person who has no business in this guild.””
I, Act, was being banished by my f*****g boss.
“No! I’ve been contributing to this guild for years! It’s not fair to suddenly fire me!”
“I can’t afford to hire a useless person. Pack up your things and get out of here.”
“No way……, what am I supposed to do now?”
“I don’t care. You don’t belong to this guild anymore.”
The guild master’s words have remained with me for several years now.
That day, I was unreasonably forced to leave the guild.
So, I made up my mind.
I will never going to be this terrible person.
“You don’t have to come to my house anymore after today, [Cage Baron]. You’re a useless person who has no need for this guild.”
In the guild master’s room.
I’m sitting in front of my office desk, and the adventurer Cage is looking at me with a blue face.
“No way! I’ve contributed to this guild for years! It’s not fair to fire me out of the blue!”
Cage looks blue and shouts at me, the guild master.
“I can’t afford to hire a useless person. Pack up your things and get out of here.”
Everything in this world has a limit.
Including money and human resources.
It’s a waste of time to keep people you don’t need around forever.
I wonder if this is how my ungrateful boss felt when he kicked me out a few years ago.
“No way, ……, what am I supposed to do now?”
I answered the dejected Cage in a flat tone.
“I’ve prepared a post for you as deputy director of the blacksmith guild [Hammer of the God of War], King’s City headquarters. Go there.”
“I don’t have any other connections, I don’t have my parents, and if I get fired as an adventurer, I’ll be on the road to ……, huh?”
Cage looked at me with a puzzled expression.
“Um…… Act-san? What did you say?”
“A blacksmith guild master I know was looking for someone he could use. You have developed your blacksmithing skills in this guild and have reached a certain level. Show off your skills in your new location.”
I looked at the secretary woman standing next to me.
“Frederica, give him the materials.”
“Yes, Master.”
She was a young woman with blue hair, dressed in a serving maid’s uniform.
Frederica handed the file she was holding to Cage.
“You’re getting married, aren’t you? If that’s the case, it would be more efficient and less wasteful to become a manager and receive a fixed salary rather than stay in this unstable job as an adventurer. The salary would be three times the current one. Are you worried about the moving expenses? It’s a necessary expense, so of course we’ll pay for it.”
Cage looked at the file and shuddered.
“I’ve already notified them that I’m handing over the job to someone else. Now get out of here.”
“Act-san! Thank you very much! Thank you for doing …… such a great job for me.”
“Don’t get me wrong. It’s not for you. We are an adventurer’s guild. We don’t need a blacksmith. It’s a waste of money paying for them, and it’s a waste of society as a whole for you to let your talents rot in a place like this.”
With tears streaming down his face like a waterfall, Cage bowed his head again and again.
“I’m sorry …… that I haven’t been able to give anything back to this guild and to you yet……”
Cage recalls.
“You hired me when I was at my wits end after being kicked out of my previous guild for being useless……. You discovered a talent for blacksmithing that I didn’t even know I had and you developed it…….”
I had the talent of [seeing and nurturing the talents of others].
Cage had been a combat adventurer, unaware of his blacksmithing talents.
I hired him and raised him not to do such a useless thing.
“Don’t think about what’s left. You are no longer a member of this guild. You can leave now.”
Cage wiped away his tears and nodded vigorously.
“I’ll never forget this favor, Act-san! I will do my best to become a great man and repay you hundreds of times over!”
“I see. I’m counting on you.”
“Yes!”
Cage looked radiant, bowed repeatedly, and left my room.
“Are you happy, Master?”
Fredrika said, looking at me sideways.
“Cage was a pretty useful asset, you know? Is it going to be alright?”
“It’s all right. He will definitely make it big. That’s what my “appraising eye” is telling me.”
My “appraising eye” is a powerful weapon that can detect hidden talent and growth potential.
“He will definitely become the head of a large organization. I just made a rational decision that it would be more profitable for him to pay me back at that time.”
“I see. So, after releasing the fry into the open and they’ve gained a lot of fat in the name of power, Master is going to snatch the best part later. As expected of the Master, he is a brilliant and vicious mastermind. I’m impressed.
Fredrika applauded without changing her expression at all.
“By the way, Fredrika.”
“What is it, Master?”
“Why was Cage thanking me?”
I thought I had banished Cage for my own good, but somehow he had shed tears and bowed his head.”
“As expected of Master, because you’re an excellent villain.”
“Is that a compliment?”
“Yes, of course. I think you’re a great guildmaster, Act-sama.”
The guildmaster’s words have remained with me for several years now.
That day, I was unreasonably forced to leave the guild.
So, I made up my mind.
I’m not going to be one of these horrible people.
I’m not going to …… let anyone else be like me ever again.
So I made one.
The guild [The Gem of Heavenly Gift].
Gathering, nurturing, and releasing into the world those who have been banished from the world as useless.
I want to start a guild of exiled people.

June 6, 2021 at 3:47 amThe misunderstandings, based on the blacksmith as the sole case-study, seem to be reasonable. This looks fun. Thanks for the chapter.
