Lunch break that day. A classmate of his, Masaki Harigaya, was having lunch with her classmate sitting in front of him. She was a member of the swimming club, dark-skinned, and athletic, but she did not look burly. The impression she gave was of a thin macho man.
Suddenly, he felt a presence and looked up. Kaname Izumi was standing proudly next to the desk with one hand on her hip.
The moment he sees her, Sousuke blatantly frowns.
“What is it?”
“I thought I was calling you on the air earlier, why didn’t you come?”
Sousuke slowly stood up. It is aggravating to be looked down upon.
“I’ve got nothing to say to you, president. Did you come all the way here to lecture me?”
In response to Sousuke ‘s contentious tone, the classmates all turned their gazes at once. Shion, there was a pause.
“It seems you have not reflected on what you did.”
“Reflection? Can you please stop getting involved? I told you, it’s none of your business.”
“It’s my job to help the students. And that includes student disputes.”
“There’s been no trouble, and if anyone’s to blame, it’s the president herself.”
“I’m going to be blunt. You’re the one who’s the culprit.”
“Are you trying to pick a fight with me?”
Sousuke said in a low voice and glared at her, and Shion slipped in between them.
“C-Calm down. And the chairman too. We’ve made our peace and we’re fine now!”
“Izaki-san broke down anyway, right? You don’t have to put up with it, you know?”
“But put up with….”
The woman’s momentum seems to have been pushed aside by Kaname’s momentum in spite of the fact that she intervened.
Then, I’ll ask you, what do you want me to do for you after I have reflected? What would satisfy you?”
“You said terrible things to a girl, no? Then there is only one answer. Get down on your knees in front of her.”
“Before I do that, apologize to me for being violent. That’s a common crime.”
“You deserved it.”
Shion hugged him from behind.
In the meantime, the chime rings. Kaname turns her back to Sousuke, though it was a reminder that lunch break was half over.
“Oh well. Come to the student council office after school.”
She said and left. The classroom remained silent.
“…… Oi, what’s going on with you and the student body president?”
The chopsticks that Sousuke was holding in his hand were shattered with a clattering sound. The grip on the chopsticks must have been strong.
Shion moves away from Sousuke with a blue face.
“U-uhm, calm down, okay? I’ll tell her after school.”
“What really happened ……”
Masaki muttered as she nibbled on a piece of bread.
After school that day.
Sousuke left the classroom as soon as class ended. The curious stares of his classmates were somewhat intense. He was headed for the student council office.
It was Shion who followed him.
“I’m going with you.”
“I don’t mind, but don’t be persuaded to take her side, okay?”
“I’ll be fine!”
When Sousuke arrived in front of the student council room, he opened the door vigorously.
The room is filled with sunlight and has long tables lined up at equal intervals. Kaname was leaning against the student council president’s desk and looking at him.
“You’ve finally arrived.”
Some of the student council officers were also there, looking at Kaname with a blank stare.
“So, what’s the reason for coming?”
” decided to make a new school rule.”
Kaname then showed us a piece of paper on her desk.
“The new rule is that boys must keep a distance of one meter from girls in the school. We’re working on the detailed rules right now, so I think we can apply them the day after tomorrow. It will also be forbidden to make Izaki-san your samurai like that.”
A puzzled Shion is not going to be useful. Sousuke took a step into the student council room.
”Do you enjoy harassing students by using your duties as student council president?”
Kaname looked a little peeved.
“Harassment? This is not done out of spite. I want all students to have a pleasant school life.”
If that’s the case, why don’t you just take a survey? Ask all the students for their opinions.”
The student council officers begin to rustle.
“The girls would agree, of course. They don’t want to be around boys any more than they have to.”
“Girls who don’t want to be in contact with boys will go to an all-girls high school. I mean, shouldn’t you transfer to an all-girls high school? You don’t have to stay in a co-ed school if you don’t like boys that much. It’s annoying to have someone like you, who discriminates against boys, as student body president.”
“I’m not discriminating against boys.”
Kaname flinched a little at Sousuke’s pressure.
“If that is the case, then what is this school rule? If you are not discriminating against boys, then you are just trying to get at me, aren’t you? You don’t like me, so you’re harassing me by involving the boys at this school.”
Finally, Kaname shut up.
“If you can’t say it back, then I must have hit the nail on the head.”
“Originally, it was because of something you did that made me suspect you were sexually harassing her.”
Shion stepped in front of Kaname.
“Sou-chan didn’t sexually harass me! I said that as a joke, it was my fault.”
It was almost a shout.
“Please stop bullying sou-chan, it’s annoying.”
Kaname’s eyes widened in shock.
A boy on the student council stood up.
“Chairman, I didn’t say this before, but let’s not add more school rules that we don’t understand. How about we just go at it with the general student body like this?”
The female board member chuckles as she rests her cheek on the table.
“If the student body president is causing trouble, it’s no wonder he’s in trouble. Kana, you should think about it a little more.”
“W-What are you talking about? The school rules are for a better school life.”
Sousuke let out a deliberate sigh.
“The other board members said this to me, you must have been adding a lot of stupid school rules. It seems you ignored the students’ opinions as well.”
She stared at him, so he laughed at her.
“Do you have something to say to me?”
She seemed to be at a loss for words.
“Please stop bothering me already. If you have time for that, please do your job as student body president.”
Sousuke then left the student council room.
“Haa, I was so nervous. I hope everything went well.”
Shion, you’re very good. I can’t believe you said it so clearly.”
“I’m the one who sowed the seeds!”
Shion said so, and puffed out her chest.
