Chapter 23: That’s all I’m saying.
Translator: Soafp
A few days have passed since the ball game. I’m glad that I don’t have to go to war to get bread.
As I walked along, thinking that I was afraid of what would happen after the coupons were gone, I saw some people looking at me and whispering something.
“Look, that guy…”
” He molested…”
(Again…)
The day after the ball game, the number of people gossiping about me increased. It seems that something from the past is spreading.
(Classmates or guys from the opposing team?)
It was a big news story at that time, so people must have known about it. The news didn’t mention my real name, but there are probably a lot of people around here who know who it was.
(I guess it doesn’t really matter as long as they don’t harm me…)
If they don’t hurt me directly, they can talk behind my back all they want. I don’t care as long as there is no real harm done. There’s been a lot of people talking to me aggressively lately. Will there be fewer now?
I don’t hold a grudge if people suddenly start to distance themselves from me. I know now that people who are friendly to me will flip out over one thing.
I’ve often heard it said that yesterday’s enemies are today’s friends, but the reverse is also true. Yesterday’s friend can become today’s enemy.
I went to the roof somehow, and while eating bread and looking up at the sky, I thought about the past. When I was a child, every day was fun. My family was there, my childhood friends were there, and my friends were there. As a first year high school student, it would be a bad thing to say that the past was wonderful. But in fact, I think the old days were better.
Those days when we didn’t know anything and every day was full of hope and shine. But those days don’t last forever. I found out about it in the second year of junior high school, but there are probably others in the world who find out sooner or later.
The world doesn’t work the way you want it to. Somewhere along the way, children learn that, and most of them give up, compromise, and eventually grow up. There are only a handful of people who can live their lives the way they want. I wasn’t one of them.
That’s all there is to it.
some mob
December 26, 2021 at 12:33 amOya, oya,……the rumors that apparently were solved before are running amok now…….Yeah, is probably those mobs of the soccer match from before.
But well this time the supposed victim was already found to be a fraud and Renya’s friends are still bitter from the past so they will stand up against whoever is spreading the rumors now.
Nevertheless, Renya won’t return with them even if they do this now. Rather he simply is being more convinced to be alone than ever.
Very shortish chapter.

December 26, 2021 at 2:20 amThis novel….for me, it’s very much interesting and make me even more curious than ever. The MC is not being too edgy and still can interact with the one who hurt him which I like it. Plus, he knows how to avoid them as well. The only thing that makes me dissatisfied is the short chapter though I know how hard it is to write a novel. Thank you for the translation

December 28, 2021 at 6:44 amBest friends, childhoods friends, and even friends from the other side of the social circle are all f*ckers to the mc. So just leave him alone and let him spend his time in peace

June 10, 2023 at 9:20 amAgree with Ya. Those people are nothing but selfish , attention-craving fools. MC’s better alone enjoying His peace of mind and tranquility.
