Chapter 22: I’m gonna destroy you!
“All right! We’ll avenge Sasaki, Renya!”
Saijo pats me on the back as he says that. No, so why is that?
“The opponent made a vicious tackle on him, so I asked the coach to allow a player swap. Let’s show these guys what we can see!”
“So why me? Let someone else who’s motivated do it.”
I’m not motivated. It’s not like I’m angry that my classmate was injured.
“Don’t say that! They’re leading and they’re playing rough! I’ll never forgive them!”
“That’s right, Tsukiyomi! You can’t afford to lose to those guys!”
The classmates are furious. The difference in temperature between me and them is terrible. It’s okay to be angry, but can you please not involve me?
As I was thinking this inwardly, Saijo grabbed me by the shoulders.
“What do you want?”
“If we win, you can have our coupons.”
“I’ll take care of it.”
Playing rough is unsportsmanlike! I’ll take care of them!
The game resumes and the ball is passed to me. It’s been a while since I’ve felt it. I was running into the opponent’s territory, feeling nostalgic.
“Give me the ball!”
I say and dodge my opponent.
I may be a little blank, but I’m not so dull that I can’t dodge someone who’s just coming straight at me.
When I dodged another one, my opponent became impatient and attacked all three at once. That’s an amateurish move. Who’s going to defend the goal?
With that in mind, I pass to Saijo who was near the goal.
Saijo trapped the pass from me accurately and scored a goal.
” People are gonna say I’m not very experienced or mature.”
Should I go easy on them? (Arrogance)
A goal was scored as soon as Renya entered the game. I feel bad for Sasaki who got injured, but I’m glad to see Renya playing soccer again.
“It’s been a while since I’ve seen him play soccer.”
Yona, who had come to watch after her own game was over, also seemed happy.
Turning my attention to the field, I saw that a classmate had scored a goal after receiving a pass from Renya. Renya rarely takes a dribble, except for the first time, but he is passing the ball accurately, stopping the opponent’s attempts and cutting off their passes. It seems that the opponent has some experience, but the flow of the game is coming to our class.
The game went on as it was, and when the game was about to end, the opponent with an angry expression on his face slid towards Renya, clearly not the ball.
“Damn it! It’s your fault!”
However, Renya dodged it lightly as if it was nothing, floating the ball a little.
His opponent was surprised, but Renya didn’t even look at him as he fired a shot down the middle. The ball pierced the goal as if it were being sucked in, and the whistle sounded to end the game.
“I’m sorry, was that too much for you?”
I thought to myself as I watched the other team sagging. The other team seemed to have some experience, but they weren’t able to handle me.
“You’re the best, Renya! Thank you!”
“You’re amazing, Tsukiyomi! You’re really good at soccer!”
“Aren’t you going to join the soccer team?”
Classmates come out of the blue, but should I be honestly happy? It seems like the experienced players are being told behind their backs not to overreach at the ball game and to read the atmosphere.
I brushed off my classmates and headed for the classroom. The other class is going to hate me, but it’s your fault for playing rough. The coupon belongs to my class. I’ll never play soccer again, so forgive me.
“Is Tsukiyomi around?”
Just after the closing ceremony and the homeroom, a senior student barged into our class.
I pointed at Saijo and left the classroom. It’s best not to get involved.
“Wait, wait, Renya! Tsukiyomi, he is asking you!?”
That’s what Saijo said, and he held me back. I looked at the upperclassmen and saw that they had locked on to us.
“Why are you lying to me?”
“I don’t want to get involved.”
“Don’t say that. Tsukiyomi, do you want to join the soccer team?”
“I’m not joining.”
Recruiting… it’s so annoying.
“Why not? If you’re that good, you’ll be a regular right away.”
“I’m not interested in soccer anymore.”
It is true. I don’t want to play soccer anymore.
“Don’t say that. Come in, will you? I know it was a long time ago, but it’s a false accusation, right? We don’t care—“
I interrupted the senior who was continuing to recruit. It’s not that I’m worried about the past, but I don’t want to be talked about in a crowded place.
“I’m sorry. I’ll withdraw for now, but if you’re interested, you can always come visit me.
“Yes, if the opportunity arises.”
I gave him a social greeting and left the classroom for good. I think I’ll go to a coffee shop and do some reading. I haven’t been there in a while.

…………..Well, everything for the prize: FOOD COUPONS…………..
Something like issues of the past can f**k up in the name of a worthy reward.
Not at Yukito’s level but more than enough to deal easily with mobs. Maybe Renya wasn’t even serious?
Alright, everyone should stop bothering Renya with the soccer stuff already. He doesn’t want to play anymore, i’m speaking about his friends(past) and maybe classmates.
The guys from the soccer club are doing it for the club(at least so far it is like that) so they won’t give up so easily about Renya. Also Renya can’t tell them to f**k up since they aren’t doing it for stupid reasons. Is going to be har from now own.
One last thing……MERRY CHRISTMAS…..well, according to my time zone there are still some hours……..
