Chapter 3: Declaration of retaliation

Giorg-sama, Count and Countess Serenity, Viscount Kalmais, and Viscount Edior have arrived.”
“Right, I’ll be right there.”
Louchard bowed to me reverently and told me that the people I had summoned have arrived.
Fiona seemed to come to life somewhat at the mention of the Count and Countess Serenity. Although she cannot defy me on her own, she can’t help but feel reassured by the appearance of her parents, who are her strongest allies.
“Louchard, get those two over here, too.”
“Yes.”
Louchard bowed reverently and left.
“Oi, you guys, follow me.”
Leon and Fiona nodded quietly at my words. There is a swallowing fire in their eyes that I hadn’t seen before.
“What is it? What are those eyes?”
They shuddered at my words.
“You think the people I’ve invited are going to help you?”
“Wha……”
“Eh……”
“Did I allow you to say a word?”
The two of them shuddered again under my cold gaze.
“Roy, Aisha, if these two try to escape, show them no mercy.”
“”Yes!!””
Satisfied with their words, I left the office. I was followed by Leon, Fiona, Roy and Aisha in that order.
“Giorg-sama, I’ve been waiting for you. Everyone is waiting inside.”
“I see.”
The butler in front of the reception room bowed reverently and announced. The butler’s face tightened as he met my gaze.
“I’m sorry. It wasn’t meant for you.”
“I know, …… but I can’t help but feel defensive.”
“I hope you will forgive me for my imprudence.”
“That’s a waste of words, Master.”
The butler bowed deeply and opened the door to the reception room.
When I entered the room, I saw four people sitting on the sofa.
They look at me, but do not get up. According to the etiquette, when the head of the family appears, he or she should stand up and bow, but I can think of two reasons why they do not do so.
For one, they recognize that I am not the head of the family. And the other is when they perceive me as someone who has no need to be …… polite. In short, I’m disrespected.
In particular, the Count and Countess Serenity are too blatant in their mockery.
They surely think that they have been summoned to discuss the dissolution of their engagement with Fiona.
Of course, that is not the reason why I called these members.
“Father!! Mother!!”
Fiona tried to run for help.
“Aisha!”
“Yes!!”
Aisha immediately responded to my order, grabbed Fiona by the shoulders and seized her by the legs.
“Wha!!”
“Fiona!!”
The Count and Countess Serenity were astonished when they saw Fiona being seized by Aisha. Well, I guess they would be upset if their daughter was seized right in front of them.
“Giorg! What the hell do you think you’re doing!!”
“Right, shame on you for being violent, no matter how many times the engagement has been broken off!!”
The Count and his wife were furious, and Viscount Kalmais and Viscount Edior also opened their mouths.
“WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING!!”
”LET HER GO NOW THIS INSTANT!!”
The four of them were furious, but I was naturally not upset at all. In fact, it saves me a lot of trouble.
“The daughter of Serenity has been dealt with for attempting to escape.”
The four of them looked at my quiet voice as if they had no idea what I meant.
“The reason I called you here is to hear your explanation.”
“Wha……”
“Explanation?”
They looked at me with an expression that made even less sense.
“Don’t play dumb with me. …… You’re trying to take over my family, the Zafing. You filthy usurpers.”
[TL: Usurper means: A person who takes a position of power or importance illegally or by force. “a usurper of the throne”]
Not only the four of them, but also Leon and Fiona looked astonished at my words.

January 6, 2022 at 3:54 amJust a pointer, I don’t think “我が国” should be understood as “Japan” in this novel.
Going by the Kanji the literal meaning is “my country”. Similar to how 我国 means “China” when used in context in Chinese, the term should (perhaps obviously) refer to the country that Zafing belongs to in this novel.
As it’s not obvious what the country’s name is at this point, something like “this country” should suffice.
