Epilogue: I’d destroy the world if I could have it! part 1
Christina woke up from a deep sleep.
Her body was heavy and her consciousness was unclear. The last thing she remembers is going down to the ground or prison.
“This is …….”
Her limbs were bound to the wall.
She tried to escape, but she could not do so. It seemed that her magic power was blocked.
“Oya, you seem to have woken up. As expected.”
She looked toward the voice and saw that it was Isaac.
“Why …… am I being held captive?”
“Because I restrained you.”
“You’re not surprised, huh?”
“Because I thought you were a shallow. Always hiding something, usually people are like that.”
“That’s good to know.”
“Where are the others?”
“Princess Alexia and Claire are under the care of my Lord and Master.”
“Yes, my Lord.”
He repeated the same words. He did not seem to intend to say anything else.
“Suzuki-kun is sleeping there.”
Isaac pointed to a wall a short distance away.
Suzuki was also bound there, just like Christina.
A breath of relief escaped Christina.
“Unfortunately, he may never wake up again.”
“What do you mean?”
“The gas that put you all to sleep is a powerful drug for those with low magic. It is not uncommon for them to fall into a sleep from which they will never awaken.”
“That’s not like you, Christina. He’s just a low-ranking aristocrat from a branch of the family. There should be no need for you to grieve.”
When Isaac pointed this out, Christina realized that she was upset.
He was right, Suzuki is just a low-ranking nobleman of a branch family. As a daughter of a duke, there should be plenty of alternatives for Christina.
“I thought his abilities would be useful to the Hope family,…… that’s all.”
“I see. Well, it doesn’t matter whether Suzuki-kun lives or dies.”
“It doesn’t matter …….!”
Christina glared at Isaac.
“Yes, I don’t give a damn. I’m just trying to finish my job. ……”
“What are you going to do?”
“Christina’s body has a lot of potential. We will use it in our organization.”
“What organization? Is this Shadow Gardens I’ve heard so much about?”
“Shadow Garden? We are not with an organization with such a short history. We’ve been ruling the world for a long time now,……, and it’s useless to talk about it with you. You will be a puppet that has lost its mind anyway.”
Saying this, Isaac took out a syringe filled with red liquid.
“Let’s get the job done quickly. If it takes too long, I won’t be back in time for the memorable resurrection of the right arm. Perhaps you can be the 2nd child. Unfortunately, Suzuki-kun, he won’t even make it to 3rd.”
Isaac laughed scornfully and pressed a syringe against Christina’s arm.
“Stop it ……! Yes, where is Nina senpai!”
“…. that woman is gone.”
“She was gone before I knew it. There’s no way she could have made it out of the sanctuary alive anyway. I’ll write a report later. ……”
Saying that, Isaacs put pressure on the syringe.
“It’s time to say goodbye—“
At that moment, something moved out of the corner of his eye.
“So noisy. …… I was just sleeping comfortably.”
The voice was Suzuki, who should have been asleep.
“You can see it. Is it that surprising?”
He yawns a languid, absentminded yawn.
“W-whatever, it won’t change the outcome when you wake up. Let’s get rid of the eyesore first.”
Isaacs heads toward the bound Suzuki with a syringe in his hand.
“Get rid of?”
“Yes, I’ll turn you into a mute puppet. “
The needle of the syringe pierces Suzuki’s neck.
“You’re going to make me a puppet?”
Suzuki said, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
The next moment, Isaac’s body shook. The syringe filled with red liquid fell and rolled.
“Nah. …… gosh. …… geehawk.”
It was a strong palm strike to Isaac’s abdomen.
“Impossible,……, why are you unbound,……, I thought I had sealed your magic!”
Isaac backed away, clutching his stomach. The blood foam was dripping from his lips.
“It’s easy. Just remove your joints.”
Suzuki said and released the restraints on his left arm. The joint deformed in a movement impossible for a human being, and when it was removed from its restraints, it returned to its original position as if it were regenerating in reverse.
Both legs are similarly incapacitated by his restraints.
“So what are you going to do? I thought you were going to get rid of me?”
“….Don’t look down on me”
Isaac’s eyes flashed with rage.
“How dare you inferior students taunt me……”
Isaac drew his sword and held it at the ready.
Suzuki also reached for his sword at his waist and tilted his head.
“My sword is ……?”
All Suzuki had at his waist was the scabbard.
“I’m sorry. I got rid of the weapon.”
Suzuki pulled a fountain pen from his pocket. He unscrewed the lid of the fountain pen and pointed the tip at Isaac.
“Then…this should be enough”
“Y- you’ve got to be kidding me …… with a fountain pen!”
Isaac’s magic erupted.
He stepped in a split second and swung his sword out to the side. The sword’s trajectory was sure to cut Suzuki in two.
If only the fountain pen had not interfered.
Suzuki caught the sword with the tip of his fountain pen.
A high-pitched sound like glass breaking rang out, and Isaac’s sword shattered into pieces.
Suzuki held out the fountain pen.
And the sharp tip pierced through Isaac.
Isaac backed away slowly, taking a step or two.
He touched the fountain pen that was stuck in his neck with his eyes as if he was looking at something incredible.
“Goho……a fountain pen …….”
Red ink dripped from the fountain pen.
“I’ll have to have it back. I can’t keep a diary without it.”
Susuki grabbed the fountain pen that was stuck in Isaac’s neck.
As soon as the fountain pen was pulled out, a large amount of blood spurted out.
The ink of blood stained the floor.
“Oh …… ah ……!”
Stunned, Isaac knelt down on his knees.
He then looked up at Suzuki and his eyes widened.
He saw Suzuki’s collar. The amount of magic power remaining in it was ticking an unbelievable number.
“What …… is that magic power”
Isaac fell down, coughing up blood.
“I …… in…… a place like this …… geehawk ……a. …….”
Isaac’s neck was bleeding unstoppably, and eventually his breathing faded away.
Suzuki muttered while looking bored at the blood-stained fountain pen.
“It’s filthy, I don’t need it.”
He then tosses it on top of Isaac’s dead body.
He turns and walks over to Christina.
Christina is dismayed when Suzuki looks down at her with a bad look in his eyes.
For some reason, her heart was racing. She looked up at Suzuki, not knowing what to say.
“I’m glad you’re okay.”
Suzuki released Christina’s restraints.
“Ah, thank you Suzuki …….”
She said in a muffled little voice.
“I did what I had to do. Now, let’s hurry up. I’m worried about the other students.”
“U-uhm, wait, Suzuki!”
Christina stopped Suzuki as he started to walk away.
“I think I misunderstood you, that …… you are an inferior student who can’t do anything. That you were an underachiever who couldn’t do anything …… but that wasn’t true.”
Christina looked down in embarrassment.
“If it’s all right with you, when this case is over, do you want to go back to the main—“
“—Christina nee-san, you’re not wrong. Suzuki was an inferior student.”
Suzuki said as she turned away.
“Eh, but that’s ……”
“You were not wrong. You’re not wrong about anything.”
Suzuki’s voice was the coldest Christina had ever heard.
“Oh …… did I say something to offend you ……”
“No, nothing. I just …… don’t want you to get involved with me. What spreads out before me is a bloody path…… a man who can’t live in a world of sunshine.”
Suzuki never looked back. He spoke with his back turned, as if rejecting the world.
“What are you carrying on your back ……?”
“I have a mission. A mission that requires me to bear the sins of the world and still accomplish it. …… If you get involved, you too will be wounded and stained with blood.”
And Suzuki finally turned around.
Christina gasped when she saw his eyes. His eyes were as inorganic as a glass ball, seemingly devoid of all emotion.
But they were not.
Far deep within the glass ball, emotions swirled like a black flame.
Suzuki gently reached for Christina’s neck.
Christina’s thin chin lifts and Suzuki’s face comes closer.
A voice like an exhaled breath escaped.
Christina closes her eyes, mesmerized by his deep eyes.
Then, a crisp, dry sound echoes.
When she opens her eyes, the collar is gone.
“Ah…… collar…… how?”
He did not answer Christina’s question. Before she knew it, his collar was gone too.
“We don’t have much time. Let’s hurry.”
Suzuki turned his back and walked away. His back was lonely.
Christina followed his back so that she would not be left behind.
