Chapter 7 | Ex-girlfriend’s Regrets Part 1

Shinji Ueda’s ex-girlfriend, Nakatsugawa Imoko.

She was currently attending a Christmas party, hosted by her class.

It had been planned for some time in the LINE group.

On the last day of school, everyone was going to get together at the school and have a good time.

She had obtained permission to use the school gymnasium, and her classmates gathered there, all dressed up in their best clothes.

Among them, Imoko was especially beautiful and stood out.

No wonder.

She is the daughter of the president of the Takanawa Group, the largest publishing company in Japan today.

She is good-looking, has excellent grades, and was born into a rich family.

She calls out to a classmate who is passing by.

“Ueda-kun is the only one who didn’t show up today, right?”

 Ueda, who is not on the group line, does not know about today.

So it is natural that he is not here. That’s fine. The problem is…

“No, I don’t think Matsumoto-san is here either. I invited him, but he turned me down.”

With a “pikun”, Imoko reacts.

Matsumoto Rika.

She is a classmate of Imoko and now calls herself Ueda’s girlfriend.

“Hey, maybe it’s Matsumoto-san, the other day?”

“Do you know why Matsumoto-san isn’t here?”

Imoko says over the other person’s statement.

At this point, she still thinks that Ueda and Rika’s relationship is really a lovers’ one.

“I think she said she was going to her boyfriend’s house.”

Her boyfriend’s house?

Boyfriend, meaning she went to Ueda’s house.

“Why?”

‘Well, come on. You know, like a date at home.”

“What? What’s that, I can’t believe…!”

It’s only been a day since he broke up with her, but he’s already got a girlfriend.

And he’s going on a date with her at home?

“Don’t you feel sorry for me?”

Imoko is angry at them for behaving as if they were insulting her.

And what’s more, she is disgusted with…

“Why do they have a date at home for Christmas and I don’t?”

Imoko was not happy.

She had originally wanted to spend Christmas night alone with Kisogawa.

But he refused.

He preferred the Christmas party with everyone else to Imoko.

Her self-esteem was already damaged when she heard the news that Rika and Ueda were having a date at home, and she became angry.

She was so angry at him for doing what she had not been able to do herself.

“Even if you say that to me…”

Her mob classmates are half crying, but regardless, Imoko moves on.

Where she is headed is her current boyfriend, Kisogawa Kasuji.

Imoko had come to ask him, her boyfriend if he would be willing to leave this party and go on a date with her.

Otherwise, she felt she would have lost out to Ueda and the others.

“Wha! Kisogawa-kun!”

“Oh? What is it, Imoko~?”

There were girls from his class on either side of him.

Kisogawa was looking at them with a disheveled expression on his face.

“What are you doing?”

“What? You can tell by looking at them, aren’t you?”

Kisogawa is outstanding in appearance alone.

Many girls adored him.

Imoko was one of them.

She was happy to be in a relationship with him…

“Get away from him!”

Imoko bumps the cheek of the girl standing by Kisogawa’s side. 

“That hurts! What are you doing?”

“That’s my line, you know. Don’t touch my boyfriend without my permission.”

Imoko basically looks down on others.

This is because she was born into a wealthy family and is the daughter of the company president.

She does not like her possessions to be touched by people below her.

In this case, it is her boyfriend, Kisogawa.

“What are you talking about? Kisogawa-kun is not your property or anything!”

But Imoko ignores her and asks Kisogawa.

“Hey, why don’t we get out of here? Let’s go on a date, just the two of us.”

Of course, she thought Kisogawa would just follow her lead.

However…

“Oh, I don’t want to.”

“Huh?”

The sudden refusal confuses Imoko.

“Why?”

“We’re all enjoying Christmas right now.”

He hugged the girls on either side of him and gave them a sleazy look.

Imoko did not like this insincere attitude.

“H, how dare you touch another girl when you have a girlfriend yourself!”

“What? It’s okay to be friendly with other women.”

“It’s not okay! Why don’t you just look at your girlfriend and take care of her!”

Imoko has been called the most beautiful girl in school and is proud of it.

But she has an equally high self-esteem.

Kisogawa’s insincere attitude seemed to neglect her, and she raised her voice.

“Damn… annoying b***h.”

“What!”

Kisogawa suddenly spoke out of line, and she froze for a moment.

“You’re the type of woman who binds me. You’re a pain in the a*s.”

“W-w-what is that…”

“No, nothing at all. It’s just that… I was a little bit shaken up.”

Are you silly? What is that?

Despite Imoko’s confusion, Kisogawa leaves the scene with the other girls.

“What is that? You’re supposed to put your girlfriend first! Because even that guy… did that!”

Needless to say, that guy was my ex-boyfriend, Ueda.

Ueda took very good care of Imoko.

He gave top priority to her in everything.

He never befriended other women.

He treated her like a princess.

She thought that was the natural attitude for a boyfriend to take.

But what was Kisogawa’s attitude just now?

“You should have taken better care of me! Because that guy could did it!”

After that, Imoko tried to get Kisogawa to make a move on her several times.

But all of them were ignored.

Instead of treating her like a princess, she was a complete obstacle.

Ueda had never treated her so carelessly, which is why Kisogawa’s frivolous attitude bothered her so much.

Soon after, the party comes to an end.

“Hey, take me home.”

Imoko tells Kisogawa in a superior manner.

Kisogawa clicks her tongue.

Kisogawa, however, agreed to go, since they were lovers.

“I understand. You’re so annoying.”

Kisogawa leaves the gymnasium and starts walking toward the station.

“Hey! How long are you going to make me walk?

“Huh? What are you saying?”

Imoko sighed.

“Where’s your car waiting?”

“What car?”

“You’re taking me home, aren’t you?”

She said as if it was obvious.

She meant that he would take her home by car.

For her, who was born into a rich family, it was natural that she wanted a ride home, not to the station.

“I never said anything about that, are you making fun of me?”

“You’re the one making fun of me! You said you would give me a ride, but you can’t even get a car for me? That’s why you poor people.”

Kisogawa’s patience is running out.

He, too, is a man of high self-esteem.

“Oh, well. Go home on your own.”

“What? You mean you’re going to let a woman go home alone?”

Kisogawa left Imoko and went home alone.

“I can’t believe you’re sending her home at this time of night! What are you thinking!”

“Shut up! Arrogant b***h! See you later!”

Kisogawa leaves alone.

Imoko, who was left behind, mutters.

“What’s with that attitude? That’s the worst! He never did anything like that!”

Ueda never treated her roughly like this.

Kisogawa, however, left her and went home without a care in the world.

“He… Shinji-kun made sure he sent me home!”

She says.

“In a limousine!”

Nakatsugawa Imoko does not understand.

She was born and raised in a special environment, in a rich family.

That her ex-boyfriend was also born in a not-so-common [family].

She didn’t realize that her first boyfriend in her life was actually of a high class because she was of the same level.

She did not know that the standard she was looking for was too high and that her ex-boyfriend, who was able to meet it, was of a high spec.

 But she would eventually understand.

She would eventually understand that Shinji Ueda’s house was the [real] one, not the common people that Imoko looked down on.

That Imoko’s family is a [fake] one that is destined to be destroyed sooner or later.
