Chapter 2

The monthly visit with His Majesty was decided by His Majesty himself. (tl: His Majesty is Sofia’s grandfather.)
His Majesty, who was constantly preoccupied with the issues of his country’s people, would pay visits to the royal family to ensure that they were living in peace and had no difficulties to deal with.
Looking back, all that was exchanged was, “is everything alright?” and “No.”
I was amazed that His Majesty came to meet every month just to confirm that one thing.
Before I remembered my past life, I didn’t complain about anything, the reason was because of what people around had been saying to me since I was a child.
“Failure Princess”
“His Majesty has shown great mercy for allowing the princess to dwell in the palace.”
“His Majesty wants to take care of Princess Eliza, but he has to put up with her.”
“The successor to the throne is Princess Eliza.”
This was how I was treated in the palace, despite being the crown prince daughter.
I am the daughter of the crown prince, but His Majesty showed more concerned about Eliza than me,
I was always told that my uncle’s daughter Eliza, who was the third prince, was better than me and that I shouldn’t complain in any sort of way because I was a failed princess
I should not complain in any way because I was a failure of a princess,
In hindsight, I guess I was brainwashed.
The first prince became the crown prince and then I was born,
The second prince married and remained as royalty,
The third prince became a duke after descending to the vassalage, and lived with his daughter, Eliza, Though they did no longer have the right to claim the throne, they were still favored by many nobles and citizens.
With the crown prince and his wife, who do not get along well with each other and do not care about their daughter and the second prince and his wife, who are currently out of the country on diplomatic business, made it easier for the third prince, who has no land and had a lot of time to spend, do whatever he wanted at the royal palace….
As I sighed, His Majesty finally arrived in the audience chamber.
He was my grandfather, but I called him “His Majesty” because the servants had instructed me to do so.
That is why I dare to say this.
“Is everything all right?” he said.
“Grandfather, give me a hug!”
“What?”
“Please, hug me!”
Not only His Majesty, but all of his people were wide-eyed at the sudden offer.
The princess, who until now had never spoken a word other than “No, asked to be embraced by his majesty, who is a very tough guy… it was understandable that they were surprised.
Even so, as I stared at his majesty, His Majesty answered me, though he seemed to be upset.
“…Come near.”
“Yes!”
Ignoring the attempts of the maids to stop me, I went right in front of His Majesty and raised my hands upward.
His Majesty’s gaze wandered a bit, but then, as if determined, he put his hands around my thin waist and lifted me up.
Her body was so light that it was hard to believe that she was seven years old. (tl: this is the grandfather thinking)
One could not see it from the top of my loose-fitting dress, but I was very skinny…
As his Majesty picked me up, I accidently wobbled backwards. I quickly took advantage of it and put my arms around His Majesty’s neck. Hugging him, I asked His Majesty in a whisper, “Please tell them to leave.”
I thought it was amazing how he gave instructions to those around him without his expression changing, although I think he was quite surprised by my request.
My grandfather listened to me, who was only seven years old but looked no older than 5.
It was a gamble whether he would listen to my wish.
When His Majesty waved his hand, the entourage that was inside the audience chamber went outside.
(tl: the author kept changing the perspective to first person and third person so it was a bit confusing that’s why I am going to change all the third person parts into first person from now on.)
